TMW NOW USES A WEB BASED REGISTRATION PROCESS

Go here to register: http://themanaworld.org/registration.php

You CANNOT register in game/with the client, you must use the above link.

TMW has recently come under various attacks by individual(s) utilizing automated character creation tools to lag the server and flood individuals. Due to these attacks, in game character creation has been disabled, and all registration is now handled via the registration web page (see above). If you have any problems creating a character, please join the official freenode.net room #themanaworld and ask for help.

The main page would not hurt.

Also in the next release it'd be nice to have the client pop up the default browser with this site when you hit the register button.

Why not just make the next client have a CAPTCHA? Sent from the server?

Come back with a foolproof and non-annoying captcha design and we'll come back to that idea.

What about a captcha that displays an image of something that's unique to the game (e.g. Mooboo) that requires the individual look to the wiki to get the name (or know that creature/NPC)? I suppose someone could run some sort of script against it...

The create button just stays grey and theres no progress bar. I can cancel it and it just goes back to the previous screen. HELP???
