Re: Cemetry Map

What we have so far which could be used for it:

Monsters:
Zombie: http://forums.themanaworld.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=5717
(Spiders, poison/fire skulls would also fit IMO)
Tileset:
Church: http://forums.themanaworld.org/viewtopi ... &start=210
Dead tree: http://forums.themanaworld.org/viewtopi ... ree#p45622
(I think the tileset can be based on the woodland tileset by adding some new stuff)
Environmental Effect:
Fog: http://wiki.themanaworld.org/index.php/ ... olling.png

What we need(Suggestions):

Tileset:
cemetery fence
cemetery gate
gravestones
Crypt/Mausoleum

I know it doesn't make too much sense to work on undead if there's not an environment for them yet... but I've also been working on a lich...

Going on the suggestion posted by Luneenia, from 2 1/2 years ago that the graveyard use above ground graves, like New Orleans, here's what I'm playing around with so far:

I've been trying to touch this more, but have been to sick to think straight over the last week. I still have to create tombs that can be tiled wider or taller to function as mausoleum burial vaults.

Sorry, but these tiles do not fit the style of the rest of the game at all. Try to go for a less photo-realistic texture.

The wondering soul was a quick test I did when I was trying to come up with some quick ideas on ghosts (this one using Modanung's male sprite modded into a simple ghost using the basic shape Len suggested.) Interestingly enough, this wound up in my sprite graveyard [the land of unfinished stuff on my notebook]. I had planned to use this variation on the Wondering Soul (in this case the Perished Miner) for a quest in the mines.

where the ghost is floating, he kind of looks like he is hanging on to the edge of a deep hole trying to get out

I was trying to develop a graveyard on a current map developed on this post:
TestTown + Cementery = http://forums.themanaworld.org/viewtopi ... 920#p54920
Also add the .zip files with the used tiles, .tmx and NPC scripts for map on post.

I used some posted graphics as crypts by yosuhara , church by i and the dead tree from current tiles.
Im not sure if its the desired concept, its just a simple example and need much more work.

I'm not sure when the wisps will be implemented, but it'd be nice if the Cemetery were near a swampy area, so as to include them. Plus it would help give a nice openness to include other dark creatures.

One idea to add to the graveyard. If you had one hand poking through the ground just below a head stone, the hands could be attackable. Kind of like having the zombie only part way out of a grave. You could also have 1 or 2 graves be dark in color to represent fresh dirt being removed. Also one grave could be the entrance to an underground set of caves. It would appear as a normal grave with grass but when you walk on it you fall into a cave.

A stationary monster like the flower, but hostile within the melee attack range? Jax says that should be easy enough. Perhaps just the patch of fresh soil, or just nothing at all for the standing frames, but a popout and grabbing animation for the attack... just to make it a bit of a surprise  ?
