Regarding "interesting" ailments, how about hallucination? In the rogue-like Moria game there's a hallucination mushroom. If you accidentally eat it (not knowing what it will do), you will see random monsters appear around you, for a limited time. Even in that text-based game this is surpr...

Wow - the gas effects look quite good! That's giving the right athmosphere for that cave. But the shroom pictures don't convey that feeling yet. The bright ones look rather like light bulbs, and the big green-red-blue one is too comic-like. The yellow shrooms at the walls and the glowing one are qui...

Sorry for my ignorance, but what does "kea" mean?

Also, I'd be interested in goggles (leather preferred - no, that's not a fetish :)
How does this work? How do I contact you in-game?

Just a very faint idea: how about using Jabber / XMPP ( http://www.jabber.org/about/overview.shtml ) for in-game chat? TMW client could use a XMPP client library, and the chat server would be an existing Jabber server which loosely connects to the TMW server for status info. Network communication wo...

Maybe the downside of such an Invulnerability Potion could be that you have to rest afterwards for the double time; if you don't rest, you get the damage * 3. Something like that could give you a short "boost" for attacking a fierce monster, but you have to be sure that you can kill it in ...

Instead of building Guichan from source, maybe you can try the Guichan 0.7 packages from Ubuntu Hardy: http://packages.ubuntu.com/cgi-bin/search_packages.pl?keywords=guichan2&searchon=names&subword=1&version=hardy&release=all You can manually download the .deb files for libguichan2 a...

so like, where do i get keys from?!?! Well, where did you get the keys for your previous short sword? There you should be able to get more :-) Btw. it seems to be somewhat random how many keys you need (some players need three, in other cases two keys already work). i am the one who chose the wrong...

Well, when you buy me one of those overprized, overhyped, DRM-infested, apart-falling abominations I can try my best to port TMW to it. Ah, maybe for the EUR 400 the Iphone costs you better get an OLPC and "port" TMW to that (ie. copy the source and run make...). Probably reaches a larger...

If I understood the OP correctly, he wants the in-game skills (hand-eye coordination, mental skill...) to reflect the actual players' skill. I like that concept, because it could indeed remove the mind-numbing leveling (run around, attack monsters that you know you can beat, avoid stronger monsters,...

two unreachable tiles in woodland map

In the woodland map (minimap_new_9-1 ?) there seem to be two unreachable spots where monster are stuck:

105,98 (there's a shroom stuck at the moment)
129,100 (there seems to be a pinkie stuck)
