Re: Some fun Screenies
Hi WildX, that's a fun idea! Some people will know some people who know other people, so if you give it a bit of time and advertise it widely, this could work. I can reach out to 3-4 former players IRL, and they may know others. There's also IRC, and probably some social media presence for tmw, and ...

Re: Some fun Screenies
Hi,
It's been slightly over ten years since Carly and hot freako got married: I was a bit too late to post it on the day of the wedding anniversary, sadly. Meanwhile, I hope that the excellent people in the picture (including the happy couple) are all doing well!

Re: Allow/switch to CC-BY-SA as license for graphics and sou
Hello, I thought I should clarify that I am perfectly fine with re-licencing any and all of my pixel art to a dual GPL v2-or-later and CC BY-SA 3.0 licence-- during one of my rare tmw inbox checks I noticed a request for this from a fork/spin-off project, so I thought I might as well put it someplac...

Re: NPC names meanings and other easter eggs!
Hi, Some of the spell invocations are related to a family of 80s/90s RPGs. One of the magic puzzles is stolen almost directly from a terrific adventure game/RPG from the early 90s. Also, one of the magic-related NPCs has a name derived rather directly from Swedish (though the meaning should be easy ...

Re: Visually handling spells casting on TmwAthena
Bertram, there isn't any `natural' event that matches this on the server side, so either some pre-existing eAthena packet must be hooked into or someone will have to add a new packet. A more interesting (because less technical) question is when the new frame should be used. Right now, all spells are...

Re: Fate I see you!
samesun, thank you, but our efforts ultimately turned out to be fruitless. Sorry! My notes and what little implementation progress there was have been handed on. Of course all developers have their own ideas and plans and the game has changed in many was since the notes were put into place, so I can...

Re: open call to the developers!
Hi, if you really want PvP, then how about anti-magic armour? It might offer increased magic defence at the price of reduced defence against physical damage. There are many other issues with PvP, though (such as the archers vs. warriors matter-- and the general lack of any point to it), so this rais...

Re: [REQ] Rings, Ingots, Uncut Gems
Hi, there is still an uncut emerald that I was happy with but that nobody else liked: http://forums.themanaworld.org/viewtopic.php?p=40974#p40974 . If it's only contrast that is broken (shouldn't gems be high-contrast and high-saturation to stand out?) maybe someone can fix it quickly? (Note that th...

Re: a spell ......
Hi, Quick note: That spell does the opposite of what it claims to do, thereby making hard spikes (the components for the rather useful `protect' spell) trivial to acquire (planting that spell firmly in the same `easy to get, easy to use' territory as concentration and iron potions.) Also, the partic...

darkice,
eAthena already considers some monsters and some offensive spells to have certain elements, affecting the magic damage rating.

Hi,
the SP boni for those items were removed to ensure that rich players would not be able to gain too much of an advantage over poor players when it comes to casting spells.

Re: Fate I see you!
Lord of the Flies, I am not doing anything for archers at this time. I have a new and exciting (and quite challenging) job far away from anywhere I have ever been, which is why I have had very little time for tmw recently. Fortunately, a good friend of mine has offered to help with the open tmw task...

Re: bug in the quest magic
Hi,
there has been no progress on that part, as I am trying to finish another part first-- and that part in turn has seen very little progress because other projects keep pre-empting it. I'm currently settling into a new job, so please be patient. :-)

Re: [REQ] Wind monster
Don,
it's a little hard to judge on that background, but in principle this should work very well. (Plus, you only need one movement animation and one attack animation.)

Re: [REQ] Wind monster
Hi, Ceros: that particular design might work best for a `phantom' or somesuch; I like it, but IMO it's too anthropomorphic for an elemental (except perhaps for an earth elemental, which is often anthropmorphised to make it look strong. Grism: That choice of colours is intriguing; it looks very threa...
