Re: Monster Size?
Maybe it would be interesting if it was some kind of big semi-transparent slime, you can walk inside of it but you receive damage while you do it (its inside is acid or something), and the only way to kill it is attack it's heart in the center (the tile that actually occupies). it might be a nice mo...

Re: My Own Experiement
I've been "helping" for the past year as a GM. What have you done except try to find ways to [...] As I said in previous posts, I think you deserve all the merits for your help and you, and all the GMs were useful... but now that we have chance to test some tools and try to find an auto-b...

Re: My Own Experiement
You say I'm not helping and guess what? You're right! I don't believe in this experiment idea at all. For instance, we don't even know what this "experiment" is supposed to prove or disprove. It's been said that it may help us see where GM intervention is needed in game. Really? How? By j...

Re: No Game Masters on server
I have volunteered my personal free time to enforce the rules, because I believed in the Developers. In return, I would hope that the Developers would believe in me and my judgment as a GM. After all, they chose me to enforce their rules. But the way this played out, I feel my contribution to the g...

Re: No Game Masters on server
By the way... this is just a game, it shouldn't be taken so seriously. Experience points are not worth it if it's not fun. If people really take the game that seriously then the best move would be for them to try help development in some way, that's why I was talking about helping with ideas if you ...

Re: No Game Masters on server
Fern have you seen how long it takes to change things here, your complete re-write of the game is only wishful thinking ......... and what do we do in the mean time!!! I'm not talking about re-write, I'm just talking about ideas. In the mean time you can test the game, chat with people, interact, h...

Re: No Game Masters on server
This leaves botting- well who cares, this server will be abandoned or wiped as promised. Who cares if you are lvl 99 on a stagnant soon to be abandoned server. Sheesh we are pre-alpha, and will always be until we are replaced. True. Also, hopefully, by the time when we can move on from the alpha st...

Re: TMWServ alpha test (splitted from "Holiday idea")
I would like to test TMWServ, but I have absolutely no knowledge of compiling code. I also agree with what Matt said. Nightlies are being setup again. For what OSs? I read a topic about Windows nightlies but I don't have Windows. If you are under Ubuntu/Debian you'll have to open a terminal and ent...

Re: Holiday idea
The people who used it provided no usable feedback and did not contribute to the goal of the test phase which was to create and balance the game content for the start phase. Do you still think that we care about player numbers? How can the current eAthena server provide more usable feedback to get ...

Re: Holiday idea
With the latest code from git? Now it does work! Thank you. I don't know if you did change something or if it was because I recently switched back to ubuntu 9.04 after some problems with karmic. The new GUI theme looks really nice. There doesnt seem to be servers to test it, though, so I'll probabl...

Re: Holiday idea
tmwserv. tmwserv. pff. you always talking about how cool it will be, but when will it be able to play for majority? If it was available to a minority it would also be nice... I tried compiling the tmw client on Linux but it seems that it gives compilation errors if the --with-server=tmwserv option ...

Re: new hair based off [rpg ff7] links to refrance provided
Looks nice! http://forums.themanaworld.org/download/file.php?id=3587 / http://gitorious.org/tmwdata/mainline/blobs/raw/master/graphics/sprites/hairstyle15.png I think the idea is pretty much the same as this hairstyle we already have. Pretty redundant when you ask me. But we could talk about using m...

Re: Magic 3, 4 and the wait
This would further encourage teamplay/social interaction by allowing groups to complement each other. What about some mage-killer monsters that are immune to magic and warrior-killer monsters who only can be killed by magic, both on the same map and both aggressive. So, only mixed teams of warriors...
