Re: Multiboxing Poll
See here for my opinion on multi-boxing in TMW: http://forums.themanaworld.org/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=7879&start=15 (somewhere around the bottom) Generally I think it should be limited to development use only. So my vote is a half yes/no. Too bad there isn't a category for that one though :P E...

Re: We come in peace - Multiboxing in TheManaWorld
I was kindly asked to pitch in my thoughts on multi-boxing in TMW. With Multi-boxing there are many aspects to consider, such as the relevant different methods, practical uses, and in terms of gameplay. But ATM I only know so much. Multi-boxing can be achieved using specialized software or hardware ...

Re: Iron Versus Ordinary Arrows
Amongst all the formulas and probable statistics, in the end it boggles down to one logical argument: which one enables the player to complete his or her goal quickest? Maybe you are aimed acquiring levels or exp? Consider the relative gameplay elements- consumables; distance between travel from sho...

However, new players would most likely be vulnerable to these scams if they do not understand the interface. Those who choose to perform such acts should be shot on sight (or punished).

Re: Can We Reduce "Botting" ?
This thread initially was about using automated methods to handle botters. Now it has been open to ways we can control bots other than relying on GM's. Recruiting GM's is entirely up to the GM team. Whether or not they introduce deputies is also entirely up to the GM team (and the Dev team for code ...

Re: Simple Auto-logout Method To Prevent "AFK Botting" ?
Glad to see the discussion is being continued. I think there are a few factors that can be used to reduce the efficiency of "AFK botting" and/or reduce it. Though these may take quite some time and effort to implement. (I personally still think manually ratting them out is the best way tho...

I immediately detected that, and warned others around me (via /w)- the community seems well alert on these things.

Re: Simple Auto-logout Method To Prevent "AFK Botting"
I have to agree you are right. Detecting bots manually is the best method. Although it seems timely and in some ways slow, it is actually much for efficient and quicker than what I have previously thought. It's man versus machine

Re: Simple Auto-logout Method To Prevent "AFK Botting"
Usually automated key-press software have a sequence right? (Up, down, every X seconds.) Will it be possible to somehow detect that this is a sequence and then kick player (or perhaps safer for server to send a warning to GM's for further analysis.) I think it would get borring pretty quickly if I h...

Can We Reduce "Botting" ?
My suggestion is simple. Why not implement a server-sided auto-logout module/function? (Whichever they call it.) Say, if a player is idle or has been pressing the same keys for after 5 min the server will automagically "kick" the player from the server. Preventing further "AFK botting...
