Re: Ingame warning messages

Livio, there're many kinds of performance (and whatever else) issues you can have when it comes to software development :P In this particular case I think it more or less like this: server requests to show some non-existant effect or so. Client attempts to find it to no avail, hitting worst-case per...

Re: Ingame warning messages

I would not really trust it :alt-8: Personally I believe in a way where bugs are sorted out. And hopefully it showcases why debug tab can be chatty - but so damn useful. How else you're supposed to catch edge-case performance problems, to begin with? Oh, do hardcore grinding in profilers spending t...

Re: Christmas Tree Hat

I'd say xmas tree should look like ... xmas tree. Somehow new version looks a bit too "bald". Who stolen all decorations? Has Orum & friends succeeded?!

Re: The Mana World on Sourceforge should be updated

I'd say SourceForge been nasty enough to make it into my adblocker. So I get BIG RED WARNING before trying to visit it as it's "malvertising site". This said, SF still provides some extra visibility - and also apparently gave up malvertising habits after mentioned scandal. So if someone can do it, I...

I don't like grass, roads, palette and buildings (to lesser extent)

Cage yea, I did, sorry about that. Seems I've gone a bit too harsh in some regards and after some complaints I preferred to "self-moderate". As your example shown, some things can be quite discouraging and I don't really want to be like that. This said, dang, I also prefer old Hurns. While I'd grant...

Re: Ingame warning messages

As for disabling atlases: it could hurt OpenGL performance. So it's debatable whether getting rid of (relatively harmless) warnings worth of it. Though it depends on GPU drivers details how badly it going to hurt, etc. And isn't it game content that actually needs fixing?

Re: Ingame warning messages

yes i'm on linux (Debian) and I have purged pulseaudio since it often did not respond. This message happens especially when a large group of spiders is on screen. Then it seems there're some issues with Alsa mixing or so. Historically ALSA had rather stupid api, where either your sound card got har...

Re: Comeback of the Terranite Head?

0) Disclaimer: the following view is NOT a view of GM team, TMWT or something, it's just my private opinion. I'd say... 1) I don't like completely unobtainable items, its waste of art and annoys players. However... 2) Many RPGs have tradition to honor players who has been there with them and took pa...

Re: Candor Battle in rEvolt

Kage, there is no reason to be frustrated if people don't understand what you do or why. It even routinely happens to large transcontinental monsters like Google, despite they have resources to investigate feature feasibility before coding it. Say, does someone remembers "Google Wave"? Googlers thou...

Re: What kind of CPU (processor) do you run on your computer?

Um, no. But I guess it's doable. Hardest challenge is finding inexpensive and widespread MIPS system that got more or less viable graphics subsystem or pci-e lanes while boasting more or less sane RAM size.

Re: What kind of CPU (processor) do you run on your computer?

All kinds of things, ranging from Athlon FX to some ARM and MIPS. Though it depends on definition of computer. I vaguely define computer as something that runs Linux and therefore able to execute POSIX compatible programs for me... though running TMW could imply a bit more assumptions.

Do you use Linux? And if so, is it Alsa, rather than pulseaudio?
