Re: Tileset Proposal: Stone Bridge

Thanks for the feedback. Maybe I will post something again, when I think I have something suitable. Bye for now.

Re: Tileset Proposal: Stone Bridge

So it looks like you didn't make something after all - just rendered it? After some experimentation with lighting and perspective, I created 8 renders (4 directions with and without shadows). Then I spent the best part of a week in Paintshop Pro processing, lining up, and combining the parts, elimi...

Re: Tileset Proposal: Stone Bridge

Very good, so I hope we can proceed more professionally from here. Let me make a few things clear, to avoid further misunderstandings. I am not an artist. I am a programmer who knows how to use some modeling and image manipulation tools. I am trying to make a game, as a family project with my kids t...

Re: Tileset Proposal: Stone Bridge

Yes Rapidshare is annoying, I agree. I would be happy to post as attachment, but there seems to be a file size limit of 256 Kilobytes. The total size of the files is above 10 MB, because i rendered them in high resolution. I had to do a huge amount of patching and stitching (you can still find some ...

Re: Tileset Proposal: Stone Bridge

@Crush I uploaded the full-resolution png-files to rapidshare, here is a link http://rapidshare.com/files/333294868/Pontus.rar.html. Sorry, no website for my game yet. If I have permission from you, I will post a link when I have one. @Matt If you are interested in a polite conversation, I will be h...

Tileset Proposal: Stone Bridge

As some of you know, I am working on a game project of my own and since I will be using a few of the tiles made by the Mana Team, I would like to share something back. So, this is the latest thing I have made, a tileset for a stone bridge. It containins crossings, corners, tees, balconies and shadow...

Re: [WIP] Block Walls (City walls, Prison, Arena)

Shadows can be changed, objects can be isolated, for example the flower with a shadow pointing to the SE, to be consistent with the trees in high res, to be downsized as required. Flower.png The shadow file is posted in its original form, before using you would apply alpha and maybe some blurring. F...

Re: [WIP] Block Walls (City walls, Prison, Arena)

:( So much anger... all I did was politely posting a couple image a spent many hours on making. But let me answer the questions anyway: The images are blurred for two reasons, first they are compressed jpeg because this board has a filesize limit of 256k. Second, not all objects used in these maps w...

Re: [WIP] Block Walls (City walls, Prison, Arena)

Of course, I made these images myself . Well actually it depends on how strictly you interpret the term. Some of the objects are from other places such as the Dundjinni forums, but most I rendered myself. I also wrote an object-oriented map editor for compositing tiles and objects into maps wh...

I spent a lot of time playing around with these tiles. Here are some of the results, hopefully someone likes them.

Re: [WIP] Block Walls (City walls, Prison, Arena)

Thanks jaxad0127. That's exactly what I did.

I have little time during the week because I work long hours. I hope to post an update on the weekend.

Re: [WIP] Block Walls (City walls, Prison, Arena)

Yes, I noticed that the horizontal walls are 22 and the vertical ones are 16 pixel wide. From that I guessed that you use a ratio of 4:3 and made the diagonal walls accordingly. If you look more closely at the diagonals, you will find that that they go 3 steps up for each 4 steps sideways. So, I thi...

Re: [WIP] Block Walls (City walls, Prison, Arena)

It's not lovely. It's UNFINISHED ;D Of course. Linux is unfinished too, but I hear some people are using it already. It's not isometric. It's ORTHOGONAL. Silly me  Indeed. That kind of wall will be useful in mapping process. But you forgot about shading and proper lighting. Making good ...

Re: [WIP] Block Walls (City walls, Prison, Arena)

Yeah, you are right, what I really mean is not "isometric" but "orthographic projection" but few people know that term and most use isometric instead. Anyway, what I am talking about is rendering styles where parallel lines are always rendered as parallel lines (no vanishing poin...
