Why do i explicitly post about the weapon sprite's inadequate size and get met with comments of the antiquity of the graphics in the snapshot instead? Yes, that's the old player. For that matter, in the forward strike animation's third frame the sword won't look like that anyway. I can take that sna...

Sound Dogs is GREAT for royalty-free sound effects. Earlier in this thread you mentioned live artists recording our music. Whether we have old-school or new-school music that should be a great idea. From your wording I inferred that you had not thought of recording each element of each song separat...

Well, what's wrong with the old-school music, though very nostalgic, is that it's just that- old school and old hat. I refer to a common quote: If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always gotten. New school gaming music is catchier and "better" to many gamers of today ...

Here's my attempt at translation- Make the Map into 3 Layers... "Perhaps tiles could utilize three different settings: a ground-tile setting, a wall-tile setting, and an additional transparency (fringe) setting." Set different Arrays on every Tileset. "Allocate such settings through e...

But if you take away the stuff that doesn't work in a 2D environment and what do you have left? (untextured) Sand? A pillar (also untextured)? Am I being too negative?

It'd be neat if Modanung's boots became the boots the player wore and the original Pajarico boots became a monster... named Pajarico Boots. O:-)

I feel I'm working blindly in anything I do until I show what I have and in that moment people will either like it or not. In case they don't like is very frustrating when you have worked for hours on it. I concur; that's a painfully real scenario I have often felt too. But can we really protect ag...

Turning the black into black, yeah. You could also add more sparkle and shine to the ice instead. Would make it more ice-y. Make it catch the light a little.

You guys are really on track with this female character! Two things: -The hair does not move when she punches... Keep it this way. Making the hair move realistically would be trying to pack too much detail into too small a space. Mostly it would just look bad... and it would be very hard to make the...
