Just had a thought now about how to make Death spells a little more useful. If you have played City of Heroes (raise your hands) you've heard of Defiance, a Blaster innate ability that raises the amount of damage they do as their HP drops. So how about a portion of a Death spell's chance of success ...

The Grand List of Console Role Playing Game Cliches, item #76: Magical Inequality Theorem 'In the course of your travels you may find useful-sounding spells such as Petrify, Silence, and Instant Death. However, you will end up never using these spells in combat because a) all ordinary enemies can b...

What if someone isn't part of one of the kingdoms? What if they don't want to take part or have no interest in PvP? Are they supposed to be SOL?

I really don't see why a 'loot box' solution ala WoW can't be be used. Only allows the person who first attacked the monster to open the loot box the first time (thus avoiding the troubles of loot ninjas), and also helping to reduce data requirements, as loot is represented onscreen by the corpse of...

I definitely like the idea of a slot-based crafting system. Allows for a lot of flexibility and customisation. But...is it totally necessary to have randomised results for materials? I think it might create too much of a gulf between the unlucky, the 'content with what I got' and the 'omg MUST have ...

Padding out the margins with windows that are normally covering the action? I could support this.

Back on the subject of instant teleportation mechanisms for players, if gateways are implemented around major commercial hubs, it'd be great seeing them being used as such by NPCs. Merchants (with caravans in tow) and couriers walking through the gateways, for example. Something that shows them actu...

Well if you want to create a game inspired by Zelda you won't use the triforce, if you want to make a sequel/clone then you use the triforce. I guess the same apply to us, we're inspired by the mana series, we use mana, but it is not said we have to give the same explanation someone else already ga...

About the tree, I guess Bjorn wants to completely remove it, and I agree in some way. The Mana Tree has always been a part of the mythology, if not the central story, of every Mana game. I can understand not wanting to make it a visitable location but taking the Tree out completely would be like......

Could we get a solid explanation of what the replacment system will be? I've seen some outlines for varying systems on the wiki, but there's no clues as to which system was decided on.

What I actually meant with the 'monsters randomnly spawning' bit was bosses spawning (my fault, I wasn't specific enough). I'm not talking about the palette-shifted bosses on the field maps of RO (which were implemented to foul up bots), but the heavyweights like ol' Baphomet. There's no storyline b...

Suggestion: Equipment clothing slots

I was looking over the equipment wiki page and was kinda struck by how many equipment slots there are. Now, I know that avatar uniqueness is king, and I'm in favour of that...but do they all have to contribute to your stats? What I mean is, it would probably be far more beneficial to consolidate sta...

There's always the WoW approach: selecting a player shows you their HP/MP and level. CoH even allowed you to view other players' powers lists if you so desred. That might be necessary if the job system goes more freeform than a traditional class system.
