Re: TMW/Evol Union
It will fail. The points for "fusion" are bogus. Do not let this go forward. The "community" is a sentimental veil for a distracting, secretive (because it is bogus), and confusion-sowing ambition. Two games with their own practices are better than one muddy belly-flop. By hacke...

Re: Who wants my stuff?
Going to donate the remaining items and cash (after selling non-rare, non-quest and consumable items) to Chicka so she can use them as prizes for contests.

Who wants my stuff?
Hey guys, I'm doing the self-delete because I'm going to stop playing for a year or two and so I can start with a clean slate when I return. While I am doing this, I don't want to lose the stuff I've collected over the last 2-3 years, so I'm trying to decide what to do with them. I'm thinking of jus...

Although you wouldn't want to make a Guide Dang It kind of quest. Some of the quests are pretty hard without using the Wiki guide. That quest to get the candle hat? I did it three times without the guide. Then I tried it the fourth time after writing down the tables on the Wiki and I finished it wit...

Re: Life Magic Skill not obtained
Technically, you should be able to use #inma before Elanore teaches it to you. You just need to be General Magic Level 2. I actually discovered this while leveling the magic of my alternate character. It gives more 'healing experience' than #lum and doesn't cost you lifestones. That's how I got my a...

Re: mkdir -p ?
I found another small issue with older git versions (yet another thorn added by Debian and it's children) where it doesn't clone recursively (as in --recursive isn't supported). I worked around this by using git submodule update in main directory to make it grab the recursive repositories. Somebody ...

Re: Health Bars for enemy's and quest icons
The game keeps track of who did the most damage to the monster when deciding who to give the item to. You can still get the item it drops because you did most of the damage even if somebody did the kill shot.
That said this game does lean heavily towards archers - especially those using magic.

Re: Support
I'm with blackrazor on this. Just add ManaPlus's repository and update. Fast, simple and backward compatible. How backward compatible? I use the Debian Lenny package provided to build the SliTaz Linux package and it works perfectly. All the fixes and updates with none of the hassles. It's not TMW re...

Re: Monetizing TMW
If being cautionary is a bad position to have, then I never want to be right.
I was just making another suggestion with the website one since every other one was being rejected.

Re: Monetizing TMW
Constructive criticism I can take, but not misplaced idealistic ostracizing. Another project I worked with had a solid host with FSF France for 2 years, but in the end the server got pulled giving us only 2 weeks to find a replacement. It may not be a problem yet, but one day it might be. It may not...

Re: Monetizing TMW
So an item is a bad idea. I get it. But what about my other suggestions? Are they also considered bad because I made one bad one? Is it really so much to ask for some kind of gratitude towards our donors or provide a list of them on a page view-able by others? It gives donors something to be proud o...

Re: Monetizing TMW
Then use a perishable item that can be obtained but is rare or occasional (like the Halloween sweets) or just use one of my other suggestions. This thread may have started with commercializing tmw or creating premium paid-for services, but what I'm proposing has nothing in common with that line of t...

Re: Monetizing TMW
Which is why I suggested an stats-less item. But seems the problem is making the distinction between a free gift item to thank somebody for bothering to donate and a "premium" paid for item that makes you god-like. The thing is that it doesn't have to be an in-game item or even an item at ...
