Re: Art Challenge: NPC Poses + NPC Dress = Lots of NPCs
Courtesy of skipy: http://forums.themanaworld.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=11223&start=120 The current player sheets are there. There are lots of useful poses and parts. Great idea to have a player sprite pose, but also face expressions sprites could be used to create more mixes by separated. Wit...

Re: [WIP] Little Samurai
The <end /> lines: I agree they're often unnecessary and I think in most cases could have left out the delay. I used the tag to say "I'm ending this animation on purpose but it can be made cyclic by getting rid of the tag". Stand animation: You're right. I was being lazy. I added a simple ...

Re: Art Challenge: NPC Poses + NPC Dress = Lots of NPCs
if we use more this system for NPC: we can also introduce other race (skeleton, demon ect...) as other servers have done already. I agree. The base player defines the norm. So big feet are those bigger than the player's, and so forth. Understanding that makes our work a lot easier and more consiste...

Re: [WIP] Little Samurai
Please help. I have almost no experience with xml and this is my first sprite for TMW. Someone please review my work and check for errors. I've attacked a package with the xml's and png's: monster-homunculus-samurai-base (R; B dyable) monster-homunculus-samurai-naginata monster-homunculus-samurai-sp...

Re: Art Challenge: NPC Poses + NPC Dress = Lots of NPCs
Ok, but in the interest of PC-ness I'll only make poses for both sexes. In my world, some men cry and ladies too stumble out of bars and violently puke all over the sidewalk.
Here's a quick start. (A female version would include hips and breasts.)

Re: Proposing a new (Ubuntu) packet description for TMW
Bravo, Byakushin! In addition: Ubuntu's software center has game categories, as I'm sure you know. The Mana World should be under Role Playing, but currently is not. It would be nice if browsing users could find it under Role Playing instead of having to look through the list of all games. Note: I'm...

Re: Art Challenge: NPC Poses + NPC Dress = Lots of NPCs
Good idea. Probably don't need both male and female children. More generally, maybe skip different sexes for basic poses and defer sex/gender to the dress. This could save a lot of work. What do you think? This seems like an important project and I prefer to stick with tangential stuff for now. But ...

Re: Some monster's on the Brazil Server I found while diggin
None of them. This is isometric in perspective. You have the same problem with your little samurai. It's an isometric sprite and isn't a 2-D top down sprite. Your art is fine but the proportions are all wrong for TMW eA sprites. I was curious about the art style more so than the perspective, but yo...

Re: Some monster's on the Brazil Server I found while diggin
I'm still going to try and make something like this for tmw but I'd imagine it's something beyond my skill but it doesn't hurt to have a challenge. The large land lizard I started isn't coming along very good because I'm trying to reproduce it in the correct perspective and well it's not really tha...

Re: Archers are too fast?
As long as there's no item stealing and there are plenty of mobs around I don't see a problem. Hitting a mob doesn't somehow claim it as my territory. Maybe some archers think of it as a friendly gesture to kill a monster with someone else. Like saying "Hey, I'm with you". Or maybe they do...

Re: Art Style: Player
Here I've translated a player frame so that it is facing the viewer head on. character analysis 01.png The technique is straightforward and obviously works both ways. The head-on bubble version helps clarify the dimensions of various body parts. Maybe some artist will find this useful as a model for...

There is a sand golem in collection of forgotten stuff . There's also some cool tilework accessible through there. There's a beetle at http://forums.themanaworld.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=3783&p=31788&hilit=beetle#p31788 . There's a tornado-like wind monster at http://forums.themanaworld....

Re: [WIP] Little Samurai
See below for right attack set, dyed and not, with weapon and not; plus animation. Does dying work if the target palette has alpha? As presented, some mob images are repeats---there are 9 distinct images but 16 frames in the animation. I did this to keep the mob frames together with the correspondin...
