Re: Some Monsters I Made

Pixel art doesn't remain pixel art if it's scaled, though, whether up or down. I'm somewhat sure its possible as MS paint doesn't burr or add colors when scaling down (unlike PS and Gimp). Im sure gimp has the ability to change how it scales images, or addon which will do it differently, no idea ab...

Re: Some Monsters I Made

.. But some people just unleash the power of MS-Paint: for example Nothing wrong with MS paint (if it had alpha channels it would be all a pixel artist needs) Anyways, recoloring and resizing are fine as they allow for a ton of work(or at least placeholders) to be created with little effort . Howev...

Re: Radical suggestion: Move to HTML5

I too would like to see a HTML5 client... It would allow people to try and play the game without having to download binary files, and removes issues with people using out dated clients. I suspect it would make the game much more popular because people feel more secure running a website then a binary...

Re: Huge logs

Even ten years ago, 400MB was not a "big deal" to store on disk. The OP mentioned 400MB over months, not hours. If you wish to discuss log solutions for high-volume servers, let's chat privately or in a different thread. I've set up enterprise loghost and SEM solutions and would be happy ...

Re: Huge logs

In the UNIX/Linux world, I generally suggest rotating both logs and backups, and logrotate is a great way to do that. 400MB is annoying to parse, but is not a storage problem per se. When something starts looping and spitting errors, you could be dealing with a 40GB log file and that's just not fun...

Re: Huge logs

Depends on what the logs say, I noticed it gets large when running the monitor, I no longer use the monitor for this very reason. Just start the server binaries separately.

Re: Hmm..Fair or not? 2

I think gm commands should be allowed at will for events held by the gm and at the will of the event sponsor. Which means that if a gm decides to hold a candor event, if he chooses revive a player, then he should try to revive them all. If the sponsor does not want revive on, then it should not be ...

Re: How can i compile TMW with dev cpp

For the latest sources, we use git, which can be found here: http://gitorious.org/mana/mana At one point this project did support building on MSVC++, but that was years ago. And we have since removed project files as they were unmaintained. Successful build on MSVC++ is unlikely without a lot of work.

Re: [REQ] Daily Quests System Review

If black stingers sell to the shop for 400gp then that needs to changed ASAP as that is WAY too much. Edit: Ok its only 100gp. I see what you are saying. Maybe it should be reduced some, however you will still get more money doing the daily stinger quest then you would outright selling the stingers....
