Re: Poll: Rollback from today's update, or not?
I don't know exactly what was changed. I tried to 'diff' the before and after save files, but I couldn't find complete copies of the files to look at. The storage file blew up 'diff' with a wall of changes. We don't know exactly what was lost in the "fix." I explained *exactly* what I did...

Re: Poll: Rollback from today's update, or not?
As I understand it, the new code choked on some data that the old code didn't. Reason: new code is correct, and data is bad. Solution: change the data until the new code is happy. I think o11c said he fixed "negative values" and changed them to zero. I don't know exactly what was changed. ...

Poll: Rollback from today's update, or not?
The update today changed what code the main server uses. It also changed the update hosting to use a distributing "Content Delivery Network" (kind of like Akamai for non-profits). The new code choked on some things in the game saves, which caused some people to see their characters were lo...

Re: Update 2013-09-27
GMs cannot stay @hidden and @invisible when they log off and then log back on (Yay for botting clients which sniff the online list). Restoring that was buggy, it was mere chance that it worked at all. It was 100% chance, somehow. Now it's 0% chance. I agree, this is a problem. Would it be acceptabl...

Re: The great code update - 2013-09-27
All the stuff that I documented ages ago. Stop pretending you didn't know, it makes us look bad. No, a lack of information makes us look bad. These are basic questions. Perhaps 6 characters were deleted, due to corruption in their inventory. This is why you do NOT just ignore it when you see a ? in...

<Frostypants> o11c: can you tell us what you changed, so we can tell people?

<Frostypants> code changed to what?

I've heard that at least 4 people have corrupted storage.

Update 2013-09-27
I saw announcement in the GM logs and something on IRC that there was an update today.
What exactly was updated?
What are the changes people should see?
I'm getting private messages about problems. Please post to the forums (maybe to this thread) instead of messaging me privately.

Re: Is the Banshee Bow over powered? (or Bull Helm)
does not means banshee owners should have all XP & drops. In my experience, they don't. My "aggressive" rager can use potions and keep up with banshee archers. But then, he needs a lot of healing, so that's similar to the archer. My speed mage is good too, but the iron is so expensive...

That's not possible. NPCs cannot see IP addresses. Also, some people can change IP address any time they like.Scall wrote:put an NPC in Hurnscald who sells lottery tickets (only one per account/IP address)

Re: new change to the game
We're touching only accounts that are permanently banned. Otherwise, these will be deleted (with all their items) in a purge anyway.
This really is about returning things into the game, and making some fun at the same time.

Re: Black Jack @ Wolfgang
To enter the game you have to pay 1000Gp Everytime you win you get 2000Gp. If you lose you win nothing. Was this any different in any games? I think previous games of chance in TMW were more like: To enter, pay 1000GP or grind for casino coins. If you win, which is unlikely, you get 1005GP. If you ...

Re: Relocate Spawn/PVP/KTGM Events
Do you think all spawn parties and such should be announced globally? In my opinion quite more players would join the fun. And I don't see anything wrong in it ? It's not wrong. I just wouldn't do more "surprise" spawn parties like filling the inn, or spawning cute things in town and then...
