Re: Error on my level

That's why I also specified silkworms/herbs, enemies that give off just 1 xp. Any other enemies couldn't even fit a single specimen under the L1 cap (at least barring contributions from someone else to take all but 1-2 of their HP).

Re: "Heal" Spell and "Hurt" Spell

Is this taking into account that casting heal1 would never be subject to any random dilution whatsoever?

Re: Error on my level

Which is why I said you get "up to eight shots". The 9th kill gets you a level up.

Re: Error on my level

Sure they can, as long as they can drop-steal/pick up abandoned items that have total resale value of 100000.

Come to think of it, they even get up to eight shots to take out silkworms and herb plants to pick up their drops (hopefully with the intention of selling them on the secondary market...)

Re: Error on my level

What kind of weapon do you have such that you show Attack 324? And is all your equipment +0 or something? Because otherwise your defense would be significantly higher than 79... On that note, is there a reason why your status points only show 6 remaining instead of 303? I don't think this one's wort...

Re: Warlord Helmet defese lowered?

Allow me to put forth the concept of a new index called "Maximum Attainable Reduction of Damageby Items" (MARDI), which is simply the sum of the defense values of the best possible equipment you can have concurrently, at any given point in time. Before those changes and the introduction of...

Re: ore and snake skin drop

The only enemy that can produce generative ore drops is the yellow slime, which is only found in the lower level of the mines, the Hurnscald underground, and as oddball singletons north or Hurnscald and in the basement of the building there. It's theoretically possible for any other type of slime, a...

Re: ore and snake skin drop

Considering that ore drops in the bottom layer of the mines...

Snake skins ought to be upped a small amount though, maybe to 2% or 2.5%. If you can skewer or slash a mountain snake to death, how hard can it really be to get a good skin specimen off it?

Re: Update 2008-10-30 (Halloween)

Not quite. Recall that part of 10/30, after the last backup and before the event, was still using 100-200, 5000HP JackOs. Someone who could have taken those on, but who can't do so against the new 150-200, 10000HP version, will have progress lost that they cannot replicate after the restorati...

Jack O ramped up too much?

A recent server restart was scheduled for, among other things, doubling Jack O's power from 100 max to 200. Is this overdoing it? It's certainly true that with all the extra time to level up, all the new equipment, and the opportunity to fend off things like mountain snakes, 100 damage isn't nearly ...

Re: Update 19.08.2008.

Don't stray items disappear long before the 5-minute timeout, such that even clearly abandoned items have no window to be picked up?

It makes no sense to have the protection timer exceed the item fade timer.

Right now I use the keyboard as primary input. I would have used joystick, but I don't see any buttons for pick up (the joystick is a 6-button Saitek ST290 with a broken 5 button, if that makes any difference) or, more importantly, for repetitive attack (Shift+Ctrl as opposed to the simple Ctrl prov...

Some keys are occasionally "locked down" to the ga

Occasionally, at random points in the game, one or more of my controls will be interpreted as being held down constantly. This is not a problem with the keyboard, and in fact The Mana World is the only program in which this occurs; even while it's happening, switching to another program will not res...
