Re: [WIP] The village of Saltern

Oh, I see. I don't know if that can be done with the level editor. It would probably require programming. That is a good idea though.

Re: Maps and Tilesets on Mac OSX

Yes I did. I modified the map using Tiled and created a new tileset by using my new tilesheet as a reference image. I figured out how to put the modified map back in the zipfiles so that it shows up when I go to that map while playing TMW, but I can't figure out how to get my tilesheet in the zipfil...

Re: [WIP] The village of Saltern

The latest update on my progress: Following Crush's suggestion about my "abuse" of tile by using them for purposes other than what they were originally intended for I created a few images, my first attempt at pixel art. I haven't figured out yet how to incorporate them into the updates on ...

Re: [WIP] The village of Saltern

As you say that could be the place for newcomers to approach the game what about a place in wich a player could enter in one room alone and be in front of one monster each monster a room. only one to ten tries (in order to avoid botting). or a place in wich you learn how to deal with status one roo...

Re: Maps and Tilesets on Mac OSX

I figured out how to modify the maps in the Mac OSX distribution. Basically, I just unzipped the map zipfile stored in the updates folder, then I modified the map that I wanted to use for testing purposes, then rezipped the folder back into the zipfile. This works great and allows me to test my cust...

Re: [WIP] The village of Saltern

I'm glad that you like it. I plan to create some custom images for the walls of the canal, and I need some sort of slate/tile roof images. I'll see if I can modify what is already in TMW....

In the meantime, I also need to start on the indoor sections of the area.

Re: [WIP] The village of Saltern

That is true. I haven't experimented with pixel graphics art yet, but I ought to create my own custom tiles. I'll see what I can come up with. In the meantime, this can serve as a general overview of what I am trying to accomplish.

[WIP] The village of Saltern

Basically, the focus of this project is to create a new area for TMW. This are will be a small village called Saltern. It will be located at the bottom of a bowl shaped drop in the surroundings so that it can only be reached by going through caves. http://sites.google.com/site/madewithblender/file-c...

Re: Maps and Tilesets on Mac OSX

Okay, tried replacing one of the maps with my own map for testing purposes, but my custom map doesn't show up when I play the game. Apparently, this update folder is just a staging ground for storing the updates. Where are the updates unzipped so that The Mana World can access them? I need to be abl...

Re: Maps and Tilesets on Mac OSX

Perfect. That is exactly what I was looking for. I found all the maps right at the path you specified. Thanks. Now I can start experimenting. :)

Re: Maps and Tilesets on Mac OSX

I looked all through the package contents but the tilesets are not located in the .app package. Does it download them to the library of some other shared information location?

Maps and Tilesets on Mac OSX

Where are the maps and tilesets stored on Mac OS X? I want to create a map and test it, but I can't find the folder where they are stored on my computer.
