Good point Crush. Maybe we need some more defining about what is actually being talked about here. My comments are on the idea of how I would like to see things when the game is complete.

For balance reasons the prices of all shops should be the same. I must say I disagree. Having a price range for each item would keep the balance, but allow for players to travel to make the most money off of the item. For example, selling hay to the farm town NPCs might only sell for 15g, but trave...

I think that towns should have trivial, passive mobs (small rats, etc.) to set the environment and they should be very thin (only one small rat every 5-7 screen lengths). Towns should be a haven for safety from natural mobs, unless an event is in progress. Similar to real life animals that shy away ...

I have not looked at the note you mentioned Crush, but I know that the treasure chest is an NPC. Could this be a solution for the signs as well? It seems like it might be more simple than having an "invisible" NPC.

I would love to, but I (currently) lack the programming knowledge. I have been going through do-it-yourself online "how to write [insert language here]", but I'm still VERY noob. Back to the topic at hand though. I may not have communicated very effectively on my last post. From what I und...

That is a bit of a broad statement. It seems to me that the particle engine is used for effects and might be able to compute distances on the fly, so it could be used to make the visual effect that something is flying through the air, but I wouldn't consider that effecting gameplay. Maybe I am not u...

Real time trajectory computing

I think it would be cool to have something like a ball that you can toss between players (similar the the Leather Ball on WoW) or if you could make snowballs and throw them. This could be used for mini-games or possibly some magic spells or other physical attacks (for example, throwing a potion or a...

Calling Trapdoor!!! Come in Trapdoor!!!

Trapdoor seems to be the Mac expert. I am still not sure what is happening when it comes to the update. I know that if you build the client from svn it works fine, so there is something messing up in the automation process.

I am working on a couple different coffins for the temple. I currently have the outline for a coffin that is laying down with the lid open, and an outline for a coffin that is standing up and open that could be propped against a wall. I don't have much, but I what I have started is this: http://drwa...

I'm not entirely sure that the minimap would have to be made on the fly. Anything that is not 100% static (buildings, walls, etc.) can be drawn up with each tile representing a pixel. To put NPCs/players on the map, there could be an overlay that relates to the grid that the minimap uses for pixels ...

Minimap

I am not very fond of the current minimaps that are used in TMW. The minimaps seem too small (zoomed out too far) to be useful and they lack acurate detail pertaining to the map and the players on the map. I would like to see something that might contain these features. A. Zoom the minimap in/out to...

Is there a problem with the mac client or do I need to delete it's cache and try again? The Mac client seems to not load the update (0.0.24) correctly. I am working on figuring out why and I am working on a workaround for it (with help from the devs). Back to the topic at hand: I like the idea of h...
