Re: [WIP] F1 help content
No, you misunderstand. My question is, "what formatting codes may be used in the help files to cause them to display differently"? Never mind, I found what I needed in .../src/gui/widgets/browserbox.cpp . Turns out C++ isn't as hard to read as I thought it might be (though too different fr...

Re: [WIP] F1 help content
Thanks, jaxad. Do you know what formatting commands besides ## and @@ can be used in the help files? (I don't know how to access the source code, and I'm not sure that I can read it anyway).
thanks again,

[WIP] F1 help content
I'm working on the help files displayed when we press F1. Most of the additional text I have added comes from the wiki. I've found it useful, for example, to be able to press F1 in-game to get a list of which herbs are required for which dyes, or what is required to complete the such-and-such quest....

Warning - scam about "cheat to enhance warlord helmet"
User "hayley" claims to have a key to activate a cheat to enhance the warlord helmet. You are asked to drop the helmet so that he can "bless" it, then pick it up again afterwards. I didn't fall for it, but others might. Tried to contact gm's at @wgm, but have to go out, so I don'...

Re: Underwater map?
Because I'm pretty certain that what we have now wouldn't look the best with just a water overlay, we would need tiles designed to be underwater for it to look good. I concur with my learned colleague. I'll have a go at tilesets when I've finished my current mapping tasks; but it'll be a while. aro

Re: Question re: Forest-Cover tileset (moved from wrong group)
Where'd those non-integrating trees pop out of? They're a new tileset that I've been using for new woodland maps (see more at http://forums.themanaworld.org/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=6755 -- I've taken over this mapping job). Also does not really work as top growth due to being griddy. Somehow when ...

Re: Strange fuzzy display and collision problem
I've had that when testing maps locally and using the -u command-line argument to disallow updates. Are you running on a local server, or on local maps? Try cleaning junk out of ~/data/graphics/tiles and ~/data/maps if you have been playing (sorry, don't know where these are on non-Linux setups).

Re: Underwater map?
Sounds cool. You could have an ambient layer, like in Sandstorm, but with ocean currents and fish and bubbles and stuff... Would the players swim? (How?) Or would they walk like a deep-sea diver with one of these helmets: images.jpeg How would players get to the underwater map? Warp with a magic spe...

Question re: Forest-Cover tileset (moved from wrong group)
Is this tileset intended to be used as groundcover; ivy perhaps, as in the left-hand picture (where the entire tileset can be walked on)? Or as a tree crown canopy in an impenetrable forest, as in the right (where the entire forest would be collision-blocked)? test-forest.jpg Or do I get to choose? ...

Re: minor hat with a light
Maybe it would be better just to have them not be able to enter the cave like the cat ears quest. Pushing the player back outside and saying something like "You run outside in fear after feeling something move past you in the darkness. Better find something to light your way" etc. Or &quo...

Re: Graveyard - time to get it going
Thanks. I know I took it on and didn't give any feedback, but I was worried that my work had gone for nothing.
I'll pull my finger out and see if I can finish (at least the northern one) this week.

[WIP] Forest island map (taken over from octalot)
Over in http://forums.themanaworld.org/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=6837&start=15 , the discussion went: A few inquiries first: Is this map being ditched? Yes. It's from Aethyra anyway, so I don't think that any tears will be shed when we don't use it. :( Hmmm... I've been working on this, on and of...

Re: recolorable grass?
The animated grass makes me seasick. I'd hate to play in Woodland with that going on ... Perhaps a very long animation -- someone suggested 15m. Maybe an occasional ( >5m) ripple through the grass as a breeze goes over. What other colours would you make grass? Or do you just mean various shades of g...
