Re: Tools of trade - useful software
I haven't had the chance to play with these much, however, I have fooled around with the software that is packaged with them, and it seemed to function well (as far as I could tell). http://www.artistx.org/site2/ http://www.musix.org.ar/ Artistx and Musix are both live CD/DVDs that come packaged wit...

Re: Dynamic prices to control inflaction
I haven't put a ton of thought into this, but I know I have mentioned it before. I would like to see the money that players give to NPCs go to a pot which could then be used by the world. Maybe something along the lines of having more services or nicer buildings for a particular village/town that ha...

Re: Multi-Stat Items
Much will be changed once we move to the new server. There will be more defined roles for each player, and, if I'm not mistaken, there will be a bit more teamwork required.

Re: Enforcing No Bots
Nah, just the first thing that popped in to my head. @mon: I do not see an issue with getting no experience for mobs that are a signifanctly lower level than the character. This allows lower level mobs to be less enticing for higher level players to come through and one shot every mob in sight, maki...

Animated equipment
I have not heard anything about allowing equipment to be animated, but if it is not a possibility right now, I suggest it should be on the new server. I can think of a ton of items that would benifit from having the ability to be animated. For example, if an item has a magical enhancement, it may be...

Re: Games with alcohol systems
World of Warcraft has a drinking system the makes the screen begin to SLIGHTLY zoom in/out and pan left/right to give the effect of dizziness and tunnel vision (and very slight stumbling). There isn't much to the drinking system other than some drinks are more potent than others, and some give buffs...

Got any links to the current page and your proposal? Pasting them here would be convenient and useful for comparison.

Re: Clothes wish thread
Creating robes creates an interesting scenario. Robes are usually considered chest pieces (by most games that I have played), however, they cover from shoulders to the ankles. This ends up covering up any leggings which may or may not be equipped. Examples of how I have seen this be executed can be ...

Re: Clothes wish thread
I think there should be a much more diverse range of clothes. Maybe for melee type characters ninja/samurai type clothing would work, however, for spell casters, that outfit would not be very appropriate. In my mind, it would be ideal to have a set of clothing kind of geared for each type of class. ...

By my definition, it does not have to be replaced, but the stats should be tweaked to match its ugliness.

Re: Crusader Helm Mrk2
I think that this should *NOT* replace the old helm, but rather, be a higher level/quality helm than the previous. I believe it was Crush who said something along the lines of: In a fantasy game, the more cool it looks, the more powerful it is. We need some lower level, less detailed, boring (if you...

Re: Magic Mouth
I think another issue with that made it look so flat was the black outline. I did a quick hack job to try to show the difference between the image with and without the black outline. The shading needs to be redone around the border where I hacked off the outline, but I hope this helps you visualize ...

Re: Magic Mouth
It looks a little too 2 dimensional. IMHO, there needs to be more "meat" added to it. I think the issue is that they look paper thin. This could be fixed with some shading, but I could be WAY off here.

Re: A simple idea.
Keep in mind that knowing a lot about your enemy would make PvP much less interesting. I have to completely disagree with you here Crush. I think it is fair to say that World of Warcraft has one of the best PvP setups in current MMORPG games. In WoW, you can see your enemies level if they are no gr...
