Re: Nugget sprite (Work in Progress unless it's deemed good enou
Hi, For pitting a surface, string a few pixels together to make up the shape of your pit. Draw them in a darker colour than usual. Then (for the tmw light source direction) draw lighter pixels at the right and lower fringes of the pit, and intermediate-brightness ones at the left and upper fringes. ...

Re: noob question re job
Hi,
yes. My next TODO item will make use of the job experience / next job level experience / job level points / job levelling-up mechanism. (In fact, the eAthena part of it is implemented already, though I have yet to make sure that the job-point getting works `as advertised.')

Re: [REQ] Wind monster
Hi, the idea of putting something into the eye of the cyclone is very promising! Please note that I believe that I used the wrong perspective (1:2 rather than 2:3) for my cyclone template, though. Thank you for resurrecting this! The plans that would take advantage of this creature are still on my T...

Re: magic problems
Hi, the MAGIC_QUEST variables are very tightly packed, so modifying them directly or even zeroing them is not an option. The right solution is to permit cutting the tree even after hugging, if you've killed the mouboo, or something along these lines. Here's a possible fix: http://pastebin.com/f24828...

Re: New Transportation
drewtoma,
there already is such a spell, but it's not available yet as the relevant quests for raising astral magic have yet to be coded.

Balthazaar,
excellent point!
Note that it would also be nice to have other kinds of wooden figurines, if someone is interested in helping with that.

Re: Update 2009-10-27
Ceros, the magic changes were due to a misunderstanding and will be fixed soon. Apologies for the inconvenience! The `balancing updates' I was working on before I had to drop out (and that I will pick up again when I return) include some changes for magic users. Based on the data we gathered, differ...

Re: Wedding Quest
Hi,
for the dress: the four directions seem to look very similar in the bottom part, and the lack of creases in the centre is confusing. It's a great starting point, though-- someone should indeed pick this up, clean it up and add a male version. :-)

lien,
thank you! :-)
Note that I forgot what the official policy on shadows is (none of my item icons use them, as far as I can remember.) But removing a shadow should be simple enough to do.

Hi,
very sensible, but note that the warped wood icon was matched to the old log icon, so that matching is thereby broken.

Re: [DIS] Items - Equipment
Hi, I hope you don't mind if I chime in, but I don't understand that use of colours: There is no `natural' or `intuitive' meaning of colours across cultures that I'm aware of, so you'd be assigning those meanings from scratch. As such, they'd be part of the game world. From this perspective, wouldn'...

Re: Reorganization: Finally! But what and how?
Hi, Just to double-check-- I assume that by `tmw server' you mean the program formerly known as tmwserv? (I haven't made time to read through all the organisational changes yet.) What I personally would like to know is who will be in charge of eAthena content management, if anyone, after the graveya...

Re: ANTI - BOTTING IDEA ......... NEW COMBAT SYSTEM
Ceros, Some interesting points here. As was stated previously, bots have no concept of time so botting that works consistently (ie, hitting low level monsters that are non-aggressive and allow for an easy and small automation process to 'harvest') is more desirable then a bot that gets more experien...

Grinding (in reply to Ceros)
Ceros, I have pulled this part out since it is a separate discussion. This is about the purpose, value, and problems associated with grinding. This represents my personal views and I am curious to hear how others think about this. I think your attitude towards grinding and 'hard core grinding' is di...
