Re: Spell casting has usability dropped below acceptable limits.
t3st3r, as for the idea of basing experience on percentages healed rather than absolute values: experience right now also depends on experience gained by the person you're healing, so that you can't just `milk' a person who is only taking damage indefinitely. Also, giving considerably more experienc...

Re: [REQ] NPC graphics
SpamMaster, the hair needs more work to look less like a toupee, though the amount of unruliness is good. I also noticed that the shirt, despite its great shape and texture, looks a bit flat and needs more shading. The thing about the paper money is that he doesn't hold it in a very natural way. You...

Re: Spell casting has usability dropped below acceptable limits.
t3st3r, thanks for the feedback! Your suggestion (regarding healing spells) indeed is one of the options that we're considering. :-) As you noted, the instant-healing property of lay-on-hands (which, by the way, is supposed to also drain the caster's HP-- a bug that we hope to close soon) makes it e...

Re: [REQ] NPC graphics
SpamMaster,
The gambler and his last shirt! Great design!
Can you give him some uncombed hair, too? And perhaps replace the greenbacks by a gold coin.
Otherwise this is a great start!

[GIT] NPC graphics
Hi everyone, I'd like to request two new NPC graphics: a gambler, and an old knight. Here's another NPC: This is more urgent than the magic level 3 graphics requests. And here's another NPC for public ridicule (all the good parts were stolen from Don's equipment graphics): k.png -- fate

Sugar,
already done, but limited to the most problematic spells. This should go into effect after the next server restart.

Hi,
(hereby `bumped.')
A player contacted me in-game to request this to be added. Sounds easy enough to do with the script. Any objections?

TomMan71,
perfect!
Can you post the tmx file for this, please?
Thank you very much, particularly for putting up with all my fixup requests.

Re: DEVS: Question about Stats
Hi, well, from looking at the code I don't recall any explicit barriers, but the server is complicated and I haven't really tested that in detail (feel free to test locally and let us all know, though! :-) Here is what I (think) I know: INT definitely keeps improving M.Attack and MP if you keep push...

Re: No more self healing...wtf devs???
Macias_P, Well, you can call whatever you like irrelevant. But complaints are not irrelevant because: a) They are not always subjective. b) They are not always anecdotal. Both points are correct. I meant to say that the data present in individual players' complaints is necessarily subjective and ane...

Re: [REQ] Two maps
TomMan71, the cave shape is good now! I can't see any stalagmites, but it would work without if those are an issue (they were just a suggestion, after all). However, I'm not sure if the river flowing through the open cave mouth works. It's hard to tell from the picture, but it seems to me that the `...

Re: No more self healing...wtf devs???
Kill3rZ, I was the one who fixed this bug, not Jaxad, so please don't blame him if you are dissatisfied. Please allow me to summarise the gist of this thread: (a) Some players are unhappy about a bugfix. (b) The developers recognise this unhappiness. (c) Data gathering is in progress, so the game me...

Re: `Game rules may change at any point' warning on login screen
Kill3rZ, your point about explicitly noting particular game changes in the updates to point testers towards points of particular interest is a good one. However, we sometimes forget to remember smaller updates, fixes for what we believe to be obvious bugs, or updates that we believe to be of little ...

Re: No more self healing...wtf devs???
Ceros, Seriously, I think there was some drastic over compensation to reports of mages being overpowered. No. There was a bugfix and some anger over the bugfix, followed by some jumping to conclusions and misinformation being spread. We have not yet had a chance to react the reports of mages being t...

Re: DEVS: Question about Stats
Amun, Not that I'm aware of. I often experiment locally with stats of 99, and they don't seem to get any worse, as far as I can tell. A different question is whether the 100 stat points you need for the last couple of points in a given stat are worth expending. This part I have no answer to. -- fate
