Re: [REQ] Reaper Quest sfx
Another night - another nightshift, though was able to start this on my break and finish off just now. Clearly when I said next week, I should have said next month :? Nonetheless, have a couple of files attached. The alternate v2 one (which I'm expecting to be the preferred one) is a little quicker....

Re: New to Sound Forum
lol - I hear what you're saying Ledmitz. It can be frustrating. OMF at least contains audio clips and timing information about where and when they are to be reference and some basic track information; for the most part, this is all that's needed. Pro Tools sessions is the standard delivery format, b...

Re: New to Sound Forum
Have you all considered using a common sequencing software for music composition and project submission to be archived?
I would have suggested OMF files, but then the MIDI information is lost.

Re: Soundtrack Submission - Dreary Day
One easy method is to use OMF file format if your sequencers supports it...? I've used this when providing to clients for video sync.
But it doesn't support MIDI as far as I know.

Re: Sound File is too large to upload. Cannot compress.
Finally got an account. Thanks for the invite. Extra space is a nice incentive on both ends, eh? Sweet. Yeah, it's pretty good! It's a great little sharing app. I used to use Mediafire and YouSendIt, but this pretty much serves my needs. Mediafire is still cool, but Dropbox kinda makes it redundant...

Re: New Flar and Ingarv SFX Submissions
Yes, I forgot to mention that there was clipping and I can't see how to get rid of it. I am using Audacity... I probably need a newer version too. There is a recording lever and meter where I can see it go into the red on the right, but the levers from minimum to maximum, do nothing to the sound or...

Re: New Flar and Ingarv SFX Submissions
On my system, loading into SoundForge brings the levels at digital zero on the left and clipping on the right. I would treat -0.3dB as your absolute maximum ceiling to allow for the way different devices handle levels. Also our perception of 'loudness' doesn't work in the same way as those peak mete...

Re: Sound File is too large to upload. Cannot compress.
Pretty much. You can PM me the email address that you wish to use when you register for your dropbox account. It's easy and straightforward to use. There's a little documentation when you install it. (a really, really short readme) and also a video on their website. Didn't know Google did filehostin...

Re: New Music Piece
As it's a work in progress, seems a bit unfair to criticise the looping behaviour at this stage :( Having said that,I'm with Kage on the panning. Your panning settings are a little too extreme. You're clearly using a higher end library as these are beyond the Reason Orkester Soundbanks which I use a...

Re: Sound File is too large to upload. Cannot compress.
Dropbox is superb. Integrates into file explorer and mac folder systems seamlessly. Just upload your track to your public folder, right-click on the file>Dropbox>Get Public link (or something like that) it will store the link in your clipboard to paste here. Alternatively, MediaFire is still quick a...

You still need a death growl? Or just the hurt/damage taken sound?

Re: Candor part 1
Personally, I think the reverb's good. BGM production aspects like this should almost never be related to the spatial environment unless they're meant to be more of a diagetic sound source such as a bard or small troupe playing in the corner of a tavern (such as the first inn, in The Witcher). The r...
