Can someone explain what the problem is? Plenty of people use dynamic IP addresses, and are able to play the game. Also, what is the security concern? As far as I know, the Linux network stack properly handles most TCP/IP level situations, including reassembling fragments, maintaining state, process...

I think it's necessary to understand why people cannot connect to the game.
If someone can duplicate the problem, contact me and I'll watch network traffic at the server. We can probably find out where the problem is happening, which would be a useful step towards identifying the cause.

I as a player always read the news when it *changes*, and look at it long enough to notice whether it changed. If we keep the login message relevant to people, most will read it, or -- as you say -- at least look if it changed. If we don't make the login message relevant to people, most will not re...

Should we explain the game rules in the TMW wiki?

Currently, that page says
The wiki is not the place to list game rules. The canonical game rules are the ones shown in-game, as available in the git repository.
I found this previous version to be more helpful, but I'm curious what others think.

What about a "quest mode" where drops count towards the total, instead of having people just raid the cupboard? Maybe make this a per-character toggle with the NPC that tracks the leaderboard.
