Re: Flowers :>
If someone manages to make something nice by drawing it large and downscaling it, I have no qualms about it being used. Until then, I stand by my point and urge you to draw things at their final size.

Hmm, tried changing a few things:
EDIT: and also didn't remove the white background yet. Oh well.

Re: Flowers :>
Downscaled art, unfortunately, almost always looks rubbish and it is very unlikely that anything created in this way will be suitable for use.

Re: [WIP] Centaur redraw
I was trying to improve the shading as well, but Len beat me to it and, of course, his is infinitely better. This is where I'd got to, anyway: http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/1151/deerman.png I was also trying to redraw the legs and change a few other things, but I didn't finish it/haven't finished y...

Re: [REQ] Thermin Art
I made some attempts at improving these, but I'm not sure how much better they actually are (if at all). http://forums.themanaworld.org/download/file.php?id=8304 http://img593.imageshack.us/img593/2702/orezitornic.png http://forums.themanaworld.org/download/file.php?id=8331 http://img11.imageshack.u...

IMO not a particularly good thing, and it's only because none us are much good at real pixel art.Kage wrote:In truth, TMW is moving away from true pixel art, which IMO is a good thing.

I don't remember having an awful lot of trouble when I worked on the map I made.
Do you have a version without a black background?

Re: Some Monsters I Made
Never used PS, but I'd imagine it has the option - the GIMP does - to scale without blending colours. But a lot of the time it still messes up the art.

Re: Some Monsters I Made
Pixel art doesn't remain pixel art if it's scaled, though, whether up or down.

Amazing as always, Len. If you'd care to do the same thing to the rest of pateame's frames, that would be greatly appreciated. If not, pateame - do you think you could mimic Len's style?
Some efforts towards the correction of the perspective would also be very nice.

Re: [REQ] Thermin Art
http://www.gilawhost.com/images/lt9qarg7.png Are these floor or wall tiles? The grey, metallic one at the top is used as a wall in the last picture, which is good because its harsh (ish) contrast isn't the best for a floor, against which objects should stand out more. It's a little sketchy, but not...

Re: [REQ] Thermin Art
The Crozenite ore looks a little flat, and the texture is very smooth - almost like jelly. Shading on each lump should be different depending on its position in the pile. I made an attempt to correct this, but it was difficult because I couldn't actually tell what shape the lump was supposed to be. ...
