New top
Yesterday I started a new top. Here is a preview. Is it usable at all (I mean the style, not how it is painted)? And what should a male variant look like (I don't know if all equipment has to have both male and femal...

Re: Help Me
I don't use ubuntu. If you don't like the following, please, ask some Ubuntu guru. 1. install gcc (probably you already have it) 2. install SDL and all SDL_... libraries together with 'dev' packages (I don't know if Ubuntu works in tthis way, but both Linux distributions I've ever tried had every li...

Re: Help Me
How much experience with Linux have you got?
Have you ever compiled anything from source?
Do you have IRC? (If so, go to themanaworld.freenode.net, I am there and will try to help you)

Re: Particle fx program (request)
After all it seems that binding SDL with any external GUI libraries is always somehow dirty (GTK+) or I am not able to compile that library (Qt) or results don't work as they should (wxWidgets with "naked X" or motif backend). I consider using Guichan: I managed to compile it (unlike TMW c...

Re: Botting techniques
Hm, I'm not smart/crazy enough to try to modify packets (I would have to study how to do it) just to create a heap of useless daggers - even if it worked.

Botting techniques
Which botting techniques do you know / have you tried :) ? I doubt many of TMW players want to spend their time writing some special automatic client (yes, it must be fun, but most players, as I think, like playing more then reading TMW client source and programming a bot). I know that leaving somet...

Get married and change sex?
Just a question: is it possible to change sex after one gets married?
(It would make official homosexual partnership possible - unless there is a mechanism which automatically divorces people who undertake sex change - but it would surely be often misused as a cheap divorce...)

Re: Great Mana Game :)
1. Quest window doesn't exist - you must remember received quests or keep track of them e.g. in a text file somewhere.
2. PvP is already there - ask some player to lead you to some PvP area (yes, PvP is limited to special areas)...

Re: 0.0.27 client crashes on startup
Sorry, crazy, but I can't. I'm trying to resolve problem with client which doesn't start - it crashes long, long ago before any setup window starts to be useful... (You might want to read previous posts.)

Re: 0.0.27 client crashes on startup
I tried to switch OpenGL off in my configuration file: ~/.tmw/config.xml: <config> <option name="opengl" value="0" /> </config> In log I found following message: [09:17:39.65] Initializing configuration... [09:17:39.67] Warning: No configuration file (/home/igneus/.tmw/config.xml...

Re: 0.0.27 client crashes on startup
Latest 0.0 client got from git crashes in the same way. I compiled it with option -g in CPPFLAGS, so I'll play with gdb a bit and tell you if I find anything interesting :) Here is log: [00:42:19.72] Starting The Mana World Version 0.0.27 [00:42:19.73] Initializing SDL... Git advice request
Would anyone, please, advise me how to get TMW 0.0 client source from Git? "Git manual" on the wiki only speaks about "client", but
~/bin/git clone --depth 1 git://gitorious.org/tmw/mainline.git tmw
brings client 0.1 which I don't want.

Re: Silkworms
Once someone starts sci-fi fork of TMW, he may reuse at least one monster.
