Those are alright -- except i much rather the grass tiles which Sull created (sorry Crush, but imo, those tiles dont really "fit in" :(). Sull's tiles were inspired by Secret of Mana, you know, that other game. The one that The Mana World was supposed to be similar to. You know. Ok, enough...

I dont like any of these ideas at all. This feature has been implemented in private ragnarok online servers, and i dont think it works too well, as it takes the fun out of finding a boss and killing it before someone else does :)

There aren't alot of places to go for low level characters at the moment, so you will probably have to just stick around the town until you get your character a higher level (yes, this sucks. We need some more low level maps). NOTE TO MAPPERS: Make more maps for lowl level people. A good place would...

EXP should be gained from doing many tasks in the game world. Anyone played Fallout 2? In Fallout you gain experience not only by killing things, but from using your skills and completing quests (which may be non-violent). An example of this is when you use your lockpicking skill to pick the lock on...

ktm: the client only knows about objects which are in the current viewport. So if you iterated through all the items laying around and picked them up you will only pick up the items in your current viewport. Its just how the server works -- why send the client information about objects which they ca...

Yes, Rotonen is the art director, but doesn't mean we can't try and help him. This is a F/OSS project, we _need_ to help eachother out :)

Currently there is no protection for automating attacks -- except you cannot pick up objects that are not on your screen (the client only knows about objects which would be on your screen). I know, as i wrote an auto-pickup patch for someone who played with a game pad. I havne't looked into really f...

Thats nice (i like it quite a bit), except we need to stick to the same style of graphics. We really need artists to collaborate to create a universal "The Mana World" style. Currently we have lots of sprites which are made by different people using different styles, while this is good whe...

This is quite an old thread, but i will point out that Ruby will be used primarily for scripting on the server (although we won't rule out any other possibilities for alternate language support).
