why would a shield increase your chance to dodge? The point of having a shield is to block; it would actually seem to me that shields should decrease your chance to dodge.

Hmm...definately some stiffness problems with body positioning. First thing, we should keep in mind that not all characters who use a slashing attack will be carrying shields. The reason for generic movement types in attacking rather than weapon-specific ones is so as to be able to reuse attack anim...

To get back to the topic of screen usage on higher resolution than 800x600, I think we could scale the map and objects (at least in OpenGL) to fit any resolution, while keeping the GUI elements 1:1. So you wouldn't see more in a higher resolution, but you would have more space for the windows. That...
