Re: forest tileset
My main worry is with the rock in the background. Shift it a few pixels to the right and I'll be happy. It's the darker one that's a little faded out.

Re: forest tileset
http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/2706/crapy2gc5.png It’s not a bloody door, cave entrances are not usually easily accessible! :? You are right: it is more realistic. But I am thinking gameplay wise. If you intend for a player to be able to walk into the cave, you need one tile th...

Re: forest tileset
Still not enough space for a player to enter. And what's that weird looking black spot on the right side of the opening? Try making it a bit more organic.

Re: forest tileset
Also, could you make the entrance a bit wider? I mean yeah it works fine as it is, but it seems like a really tight squeeze for our current playerset. :? Shifting the bottom rocks over a tad should solve that problem. :) Oh and the single green line at the bottom of the rocks looks unnatural. Try re...

Re: forest tileset
See, now doesn't that look much nicer? If you really want to go overboard you can make a third tile, but personally I think this looks great.Saphy wrote:
Like this, right?

Re: forest tileset
Hmmm, with that vines on the cliffs and the new trees by Saphy it looks less like woodland but reminds me more of a jungle. What do you think about developing the tileset further in this direction? And who's to say we can't have both? ;) By making the vines a separate tile we could easily have both...

Re: forest tileset
I tried to create some bush tiles: http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r156/SnEptUne/bush_tile.png http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r156/SnEptUne/bush_tile_preview.png Somehow, it seems repetitive. What have I done wrong? Absolutely nothing. Whenever you go above a certain complexity it becomes im...

Re: forest tileset
...Can we also have... You don't trust our pixellation department enough? Instead of "can we" you should rather ponder about "should we" (as in do we need this and that; in this case we did). Nono, not at all. I've seen the great work our team can do and I trust them. It's just ...

Re: forest tileset
Perhaps. Also a natural arch-way composed of the cliff-rock would be great.dabe wrote:good thinking, Pauan. The trunk of a fallen tree would seem to be a good possible choice.Pauan wrote:Can we also have some sort of natural (non-man-made) bridge between the cliffs?

Re: forest tileset
MUCH MUCH better. You still have a lot of work to do, of course, including variation tiles, but so far it looks really great. :) P.S. Can we also have some sort of natural (non-man-made) bridge between the cliffs? I know it'll be hard to make it look natural and all, but if you can pull it off it'd ...

Filters -> Map -> Tile...Saphy wrote:Do you have the tile? I believe we can work together to change the direction. It shouldn't be too difficult. However, I have no experience with making complex object tileable. Is that a easy way to do so in GIMP? Something like image warp/displace?
