i have idea about pets. What about a "maggot-pet"? all we need is an item, something like a cage trap and bait (it can be an apple). Maggot will be attracted to trap and catched inside it. then u will get it out and raise it, feeding it and when it will grow up it can have some special opt...

i don't know, it is so hard to make some animations for NPC for example like "moving smoke" for the smoking wanderer NPC (teleport to greenland)
