Nice animation. TMW could need more little motion like this. However, you should avoid perfect diagonals. It looks quite artificial.

The new floor seems to induce a slight case of the Cafe Wall Illusion. That's really distracting. Is that intentional?

A great start. In the long run you might want to reduce the contrast a bit to make sure sprites still stand out, but there is plenty of time for this.

The bricks might benefit from a bit more noise.

It should be possible to use smaller or larger sprites, but the tilesize of 32x32 tiles is quite hardcoded, so when you use much smaller sprites, it might look strange when they move in increments larger than themselves.
