Firstly, this is awesome, and that's really all there is to say on the matter.
Secondly, I'm using Firefox and can't see anything wrong. What are the peculiarities? The mouseover demo shade seems to fade in (and fit) fine here.

Re: Public Test Server
I must admit I'm confused here. In the past, I've set up a [ testing server ] off the same login-server for testing. Accounts were periodically copied across, and people seemed happy with that at the time. GM levels are handled by the login-server. If we run a testing server off the same login-serve...

Re: Public Test Server
Try to keep everything constantly and continuously integrated on the one testing server. We don't need another Big Bang Integration day.

Re: The great typo hunt
The typo was in the hover text of the smiley. There are existing autocorrect rules, but that system will not be of use here.

Re: [Testing] Low cost Magic
This spell is only up on the Testing World at caliban or on sagdas.net Well, I detected why it fails. It also takes level 2 in general magic :alt-2:, but it was not declared anywhere at all. Needless to say my newb mage had no level 2 in general magic after some half day of playing. It has been eno...

Re: Druid Tree quest: one small improvement
The closest thing I can think of would be the sick mouboo, which still hooks into top level chat reception along with all other magic. It just happens to also have an explicit check for area/range.

Re: Auto-follow, is it time for a change?
Ask why this feature was removed without warning to anyone Who should have been warned? bjorn accepted its removal nearly five years ago (2008-10-06), not long after I joined, and with a very clear cut commit at that. I guess Aethyra was around back then, but they had their own server they were reb...

Re: Auto-follow, is it time for a change?
As an aside, @follow does nothing except make the client print [ "@follow command not available" ]: int atcommand_follow (const int fd, struct map_session_data *sd, const char *command, const char *message) { #if 0 [...] #endif /* * Command disabled - it's incompatible with the TMW * clien...

Re: Spell idea
The dark petal item that allowed players to warp to Easter Island is such a catalyst, and seemed to function fine for the most part. And I indeed encountered the problem with CATALYST when writing that. Fortunately, it's possible to write a completely equivalent clause using REQUIRE, as in (REQUIRE...

Re: The official server-move flamewar topic
She still had the title, as her resignation was never official AFAIK. It was stated enough times to be well understood, and when the time came to put together a reference of roles and responsibilities it was clearly left out. I suppose you could possibly construe it as claiming ownership of gm_acco...

Re: The official server-move flamewar topic
If they really owned the files, why would they still leave a full copy intact on Platinum? Why not? Manufacturing perfect copies is trivial in the digital age, there's no loss if there are two where there once was one. "Move" is just copying with unlinking at one end. Why go to the troubl...

Re: The official server-move flamewar topic
Based on this post, as of end 2009, Platyna had the following separate roles: Server host tmwAthena administrator Community administrator/manager (I guess we could call it "lead GM", based on Elven's description of "community manager" here ) Forum administrator Other "minor...

Re: The official server-move flamewar topic
What I think is really needed, to justify legally such a move, is actual legal documentation that either Elven owns the trademark on the whole of TMW (valid up to 2013, because trademarks can also expire), or legal documents clearly defining the hosting vs. admin arrangements worked out with Platyn...
