Re: Developer Privileges
As an aside, I'll confirm that I indeed created unreleased items (aside from GM robes, GM caps, and Dev caps) in two cases. The first, a rock knife, immediately prior to a scheduled rollback amidst planned chaos (Nov 2010?). As everything was rolled back, this hasn't had any lasting effect on the ga...

Re: automated clients
Platyna once fired all the GM's and let anarchy rule, she thought the experiment went well, I did not. We had mass botting and abuse, I think we all agree that is not a game we want to play in. What a bullshit. The only GMs I fired were Delasia and her BF. Regards. Indeed. It was [ Bjorn ] that tem...

Re: automated clients
Give me time. As always, there is a lot of history here. ;) The prevailing interpretation four years ago was that automation was acceptable as long as there was still a human involved, as a human could be doing any of the actions performed anyway. There is no magical way to determine whether or not ...

Re: Developer Privileges
I'll quote myself verbatim here: The old rationale behind @levels was as follows: @0 commands (general) should be functions that either change no state or update metadata associated with their own account only. Examples: @date, @time, @email. @40 commands (junior dev) should be functions that affect...

Re: GM event 25/1 2014
As an administrator, Freeyorp should be able to be able to hold such events Administrators don't hold events (though they may assist GMs in preparation, e.g. if items need to be spawned). Is that a "don't" as in "not required by the job description" or a "don't" as in ...

Re: I must go, my people don't really need me
I respect your decision, but none of this makes any sense to me. Especially where you said that "your opinion was alone and that by itself made it wrong". I don't see how a TMWC that goes unchallenged in their every decision would be any better. It's not that TMWC goes unchallenged; it's ...

Re: Update Procedure
TMW needs more equipment variety. And even when it sounds unintuitive, level requirements on items increase variety, not decrease it. Without level requirements, everyone will just use the highest equipment tier they can get. Whole tiers of weapons would exist in theory, but see next to no use in p...

Re: Thank you and good luck
I can confirm that we had in excess of 200 players online half a decade ago. Player count is declining.

Re: Update Procedure
One of the things that I really liked about TMW was the sheer amount of flexibility the classless system offered. You could raise all attributes independently of one another, and were quite free to RP a muscly mage if you wanted to, though that might not be as effective as the alternatives. In gener...

Re: the topic about IRC channels
Voted for #themanaworld, #themanaworld-dev, #themanaworld-art. -art could theoretically be merged into -dev, but some people like having a separate channel, it gets activity, and this isn't really a problem. I'm not voting for -private in its current state. People do far too much there, and the game...

Re: Disabling a Debug NPC
Your statement callfunc "!debug"; means that the script is trying to call a function called "!debug", which does not exist. Generally, when you want to run a server in production mode, you change [ the definition of the debug constant in const.txt ] to 0. That way, !debug (not th...

Re: "Safe" GM commands?
Lets see. From a cursory examination: The following unmarked commands are technically safe and intuitive or have in the past been technically safe and intuitive: magicinfo zeny charzeny doom doommap recallall raisemap raise enablenpc disablenpc dropall charitemlist charstoragelist item kami The foll...

Re: Website redesign
Hm, less than 800px and the game canvas disappears altogether for me. I presume that's the bootstrap responsive layout?
