Some time during the night of the 15th, the server had a major crash, to which the nature of the crash is still unclear. However it seems to had taken all services offline.

Once the server recovered, we noticed issues in the char-server database files. We are still unclear to the extent of the corruption.

We are checking to see if we have a recent backup which we can restore from. The last confirmed backup was on Sept. 26 however we might have a newer one.

If we do restore from a backup, which seems the most likely action we'll have to take everything that has happened (Trades, kills, exp, quests, etc) since the last backup will be lost.

We will keep you posted on further updates.

It did not crash, just idiots from our data center accidently restarted Platinum instead other machine. Platinum had almost a year of uptime.
Now that uptime is broken I am planning kernel update at night.

The cause is not as important as the effect. The databases are still a issue.

The forums being down has nothing to do with this. That issue with a the server's ISP blocking certain traffic on port 80, and has been resolved.

I lost all items kept in storage and GP deposited, as well as some quantity of items I carry around. Is this due to the crash? Any chance of restoring my storage?

Why do people always miss the important part of most announcements ? ... "No Pants Day" ? ... really ?

So wait...by "server data", what do you mean? It sounds like the server was just restarted. And will we be rolled back to a more recent backup, such as when we logged out before the crash, or perhaps a day or two before?

I think they should use the backup, because even though I dropped back to level 90, all of my stored items are gone. I don't mind if the backup moves my level back, but I want all my stored items back. Even if the backup is from Sept.

Accidents happen, everyone knows, you were not the only one who was affected but, all players in one way or another. It is up to us mere players, we expect that the professionals get a satisfactory reversal for the problem.

I read the update text, and it seems this is a temp problem. we are running on a temp server condition. I do hope this is resolved soon.

Neither. You must retrain back to level 74
