Updated pt_BR translation: http://ifile.it/npthak7/pt_BR.po

Ps:
In "Setup" window, at the "Keyboard" tab, the shortcut names are not included in the .po file.

Hi all,

pt_BR and ru translations have been updated.

The French one needs a better review as some changes won't be accepted as is.

Thanks for the hard work everyone!

Best regards.

Hi Ali-G,

Indeed. I'm slowly gathering my comments so we can discuss them in GTP French.

I hope I won't be too long ;)

Best regards.

Are you still working on this, Paake? The originally linked fi.po seems unchanged atm.

You can generally safely translate the things between <> when they tell the user what to type (<msg> = type your message here), but if there's any stuff that looks like a fixed parameter, don't translate it; usually these go between different brackets though. As a non-TMW example, if there's "Command syntax: clear <all | target #>", translate it as "Komentosyntaksi: clear <all | kohteen nro>" since it's likely that the command name and 'all' will only work as the original string. (If you're a developer, please always add translator comments for these kinds of things where parts should not be translated!)

(I can theoretically translate things to Finnish too if needed, but I'm chronically rather tight on productive computer time and targetting a Freeciv translation update this month. Btw, poedit's Finnish translation seems to be horrid, ironically. I assume you won't die if po-mode in Emacs is used instead? ;) This is hopefully a moot question though: I greatly prefer it if Paake can cover the Finnish translation. Yank my chain on IRC if there's need for a backup. Is there a release schedule beyond "when translations are done" btw?)

Hi,

Jumpy's and Byakushin's translations have been pushed into GIT. (0.5 branch of the mana client).

A big thanks to both for their excellent and serious work on it.

The count of "living" translations has been increased of one, and we have now 6 official translatable languages (other than English):
[Letters below corresond to the following language-codes]: http://www.gnu.org/software/gettext/man ... uage-Codes
de, es, fi, fr, pt_BR, ru
Thus, we still need efforts made on those languages before being able to call them usable, for instance:
bg, ca, cs, da, en_GB, eo, et, hr, hu, id, it, ka, nb, nds, nl, pl, pt, sk, sq, sv, tr, and uk.

Others may be added on offers, of course. ;)

Currently, and due to client limitations, unfortunately the languages listed below cannot be displayed properly in mana/tmw:

Any efforts/help on supporting UTF-8, or even UTF-16 encoding/rtl is heavily appreciated! :)
he # Disabled because of current client limitations (RTL)
ja # Disabled because of current client limitations (font fallbacking)
te # Disabled because of current client limitations (font fallbacking)
th # Disabled because of current client limitations (font fallbacking)
fa # Disabled because of current client limitations (shaping, RTL)

Best regards.

it might be interesting to have this data to fix goals for translation issue

Thanks in advance

Sincerely

Hi Jumpy,

There are several kind of statistics about the client used, notably, but I don't know about the country one.

Maybe Jaxad, Freeyorp or Thorbjorn will know?

Best regards.

We could do stats on the logged IPs.

Hello Jax

Thanks Bertram.
If it is not a big amount of work it might be interesting so that we see how we fit between country connections and languages currentely translated.
Then find some good will to work on those languages, at least on the basics tranalstion i am sure something can be done.

As far as I know the client supports the whole unicode range pretty fine. The problem is the font file which doesn't include the east-asian characters.

Shall I guess than updating the font is all that we need for now?

Have you got any piece of advice or updates about that one, too, by any chance?

Thanks in advance for any help on it.

does the rendering system support RTL, though?

Hi o11c,

No it doesn't AFAIK.

I guess we'd need to use fribidi, for instance?

Actually, IMHO, it can't hurt, when we should maybe conceptualiize a bit how to do it the best way.
That would help me too, btw. ;)

Best regards.

The client has been officially released!!!

Thanks for all the efforts made on the translations so far.

I hope we'll keep improving on that part.

Best regards.
