I had to restart the machine. However the server is still down, because someone messed up server's configuration, and it has to be fixed

It looks like the save databases have been truncated. My best guess is that the processes were interrupted in the middle of a write.

I've brought the servers online off a backup from 14 Dec 2011 for now. If we find a newer backup within 24h, I'll use that backup (and any character process made now will be discarded)

Otherwise, this rollback will have to be made permanent.

It is highly unlikely that newer backups exists - as the system backup was broken due to connection to the disk array where the backups are done is broken (that reboot was to fix it but it is still broken). Well we will surely think about some nice trivia with rares so you wont be sad, but remember, this is a game under development and eathena is very crappy piece of software.

I am still working on this issue.

Uhg. I'm getting the same error message when I try to log in. I was a first time player as of yesterday and I was at level 18 with around 4K in the bank. When I try to re-register via the webtool it says that username is in use. I appreciate the work done on this game, but I also appreciate the "work" I've put in too

Any way to resolve besides start over?

@qwerty not the best idea since people registered != people actively playing.
But knowing in some advance would be great- I am always late because it's pretty impossible sitting whole day in game and waiting :p

ManaMarket will remain offline for a few more hours until the final decision has been made whether to stay with this data from backup.

All of ManaMarket's information is intact, with backups on several continents. We just want to be absolutely sure that the data stays precisely synchronized with the game server so that no items or money or anything get lost or credited to the wrong person.
