The Halloween event has officially started: a costume party at Dimond's Cove. Other updates include:

• Visible gloves and shoes (for newer clients)
• Shields
• Rebalanced gameplay:
  • Melee is slightly easier (less dex needed)
  • Distance from target decreases chance to hit for both types
  • Shields don't work with bows
• And more!

By newer clients you mean 0.24 +?

I can see the gloves when I unequip-equip them, but then when I equip the boots, the gloves disappear. Vice versa also. Also disappear when I change map.
(Under a 0.24 client in Linux)

0.0.24 is highly outdated im on the same client
i heard a updated version will go out today with the release of ubuntu 8.10 chek your package manager

is it part of the Event, that i only see gloves and boots on my character as well as a red "ERROR" under it? This happened after having the latest auto-update.... ?!?!?

If you are seeing error, please reequip your equipment. A small change was made and requires this.

All progress on the event and the new quest has been lost due to problems with the server. Because of this, the event will be extended until the weekend.

The server should be fine now.
