Preparing 1 Years Worth of Regular Promo Updates?

Or 52 promotionals for our social media, one per week, already pre-made to post. This is so our social media will remain fresh and active without being overwhelming and even if people are tied up and too busy to make new stuff, having the one a week promo is a good minimum to maintain. If we have other, newer stuff to add, this wouldn't detract from it, but would rather compliment it.

These promotionals could be image memes, animated gif stories, fan art, trivia, featured monster (info from the wiki), combat tips and so on, just to give an idea. Once we have established all the external media websites we are going to use for the next year, each of these promotionals could be altered to fit the format of these sites, if possible to keep them all moving along. Just some ideas.

I would propose 4 scheduled seasonal pixel art challenges
I would propose holiday fan art challenges for client art - Easter-Halloween-Christmas + unique server holidays
also some game milestone text content dates-today in 2004 we fixed the sit and block doorway bug...anything and everything...
the art challenges would promote the game and attract pixel artists.

Those would take up about 12-16 week slots depending.

We need standard pixel art more than we need seasonal stuff ...

While I tend to agree, if we draw more overall traffic with promo/seasonal crap, the spaghetti effect will apply.

If you mean seasonal as "Seasons" and not just Holidays. Unless you also add in "reuseable" content so parts will stay year round. Otherwise we end up with more Holiday events that are Mega-Super-One-time-ultra-rare-stamp-collecting, Mind you it's ok to have rare, uncommon items. Just make them as such. Generic Quest items should be label as that to denote that. Not that the market supports 20M GP "bottles of sand", just got sit in Tulimshar with a couple empty bottles and ponder that. Until you can hear the sprite 0.5 in the Hurnscald lake scream.

In a nut shell, no more painting stuff into corners, or low balling a rare to hard.
Keep it simple, Keep it Themed, Know what to re-use and what to lock away.
Not directed at anyone, merely observations that have bitten us in the butts before.

It is a great idea :) I like the idea of experimenting with various types of pixel art challenges. Promote the various contestant art throughout the contest when it is considered a release candidate. Maybe also post random images to give an idea of what we are looking for.

To continue with the meta on this, Concepts:
Seasonal pixel art challenges
Monster of the month (May use the detailed monster entries in the wiki for this, which would be linked to encourage views of the wiki and its use)
Trivia of the month
Meme pictures
Animated gif comics or short animated sequences
Hints, tactics and strategies
Inside TMW (short interviews with the team that makes it all happen about what goes into making or administrating the game)

Other ideas on this topic are appreciated.

Don't force memes into existence, it never works.

Was being short on description. Captioned pictures or whatever. Being not be a "meme" in the traditional sense. If you have a better description, I may use it.

boxed fankits could be nice too, a cd, printed map, a mousepad and maybe a printed quickstart guide/handbook.
