Organizing the forums!

Post by Blash »

Hi everyone,

These forums are awfully crowded and unorganized! Especially the suggestions/feedback forum--we should have each forum broken into sub-forums. e. g. The suggestions/feedback forum should have a sub-forum for the magic system, combat system, etc. The website dev. forum should have a sub-forum for the wiki, website, etc.

I disagree. The good ideas are stored in our heads and sometimes even put on the wiki. Most of the ideas however are suggested tons of times and are either somewhere on the wiki or rightfully forgotten/archived.
If you're looking for 3D FOSS games be sure to check out LucKey Productions on itch.io

I'm not a mind-reader (only a mind-guesser, and bad at that), but it sounds like you are indirectly trying to insinuate that the wiki is where ideas should be organized. I will concede that point, but...

It doesn't sound like there is any really seriously good reason not to organize the forums a little more. Having the forums more organized would better help a guy find the right place to post his idea, and it would make it easier to find what you were looking for in the forums. Even if one could just simply add tags to their message, the tags would organize forums better for you. You could then link forums to tags. (...that would be cool :), but it is probably not a feature of phpBB I am guessing)

Anyways, a good idea is a good idea. No matter what anyone wants to feel about the situation, a good idea will have its advantages. :-) Think of the advantages!

And thinking about "tons of times"--making one topic for each "suggestion"--like a "wiki" poll, would keep your forum from filling up with reiterations of the same idea. Just thinking on paper.

They have already been organized, and Suggestion forum is a filter, there are suggestions being put and the ones useful for a particular stage of the development are moved into development forums. We don't need more forum sections.

Regards.
