I have here a suggestion for a new type of player ranking. At the moment, your player rank is advanced by posts alone. I envisage a method whereby a player's rank shows how helpful they are on the forum, rather than how much they spam.
A post can be voted on by any member of the forum. Beneath (or atop) the post is a drop-down menu. This will have (for Peons): -1, 0 and +1. If they vote +1, the player who posted the post gets +1 to his Karma - or whatever the word will be (Points, Quarma, etc).
The higher a player's Karma, the more karma they can share: eg,
Peon: min -1, max +1
Novice: min -2, max +2
Warrior: min -5, max +5
Knight: min -10, max +10
GM, Admin, Dev: min -20, max +20
Just an idea. It can be expanded upon and improved, or laughed at.
