Can't to talk to NPCs after entering miner cave near start.

First off hello everybody!

Anyhow after I enter the cave I am unable to talkbegeing to NPCs. I have tested it several times and each time after entering i cannot talk to NPCs whether I click them or right click and choose "talk".

The only way I can talk to them again is by closing TMW and starting it again.

I'm running Linux Mint 11 Katya and tmw_0.0.29.1-3

Have you tried to talk with the NPCs using the keyboard commands? Try pressing 'n' near the NPC you wish to converse with then 't' to talk.

As others have already stated, you should probably also update your client to the current release for the official or Manaplus versions.

Me thinks you'll be a lucky dog indeed if you go with ManaPlus : )

Here is how I installed it on my computer, and I have found out that same process will likely work for you since Mint = Ubuntu. Specifically Mint (Katya) corresponds to Ubuntu (Natty).

A good client to use in Ubuntu is ManaPlus which is available from: http://manaplus.evolonline.org/.

Ubuntu Natty (Mint Katya) specific install instructions from
http://manaplus.evolonline.org/repository


Download key:

Open terminal

and type code:

wget http://repo.evolonline.org/manaplus/4144.asc


Then install the key:

type code:

sudo apt-key add 4144.asc




Then add repository:

1.Open synaptic: System / Administration / Synaptic package manager
2.Select menu Settings / Repositories
3.Select tab "Other Software"
4.Press Add
5.Type:

deb http://repo.evolonline.org/manaplus natty main



Press Reload (basically reloading your software sources list)
This can be done in "Synaptic package manager", or "Software Sources", or "Update Manager".

Now you can install manaplus package.


Install

Run in terminal:

sudo aptitude install manaplus


or

Code:
sudo apt-get install manaplus


or

search "manaplus" in synaptic package manager and install from there.

If you have GNOME desktop shortcut will probably be
Applications/Games/ManaPlus

Um, no. .tar.gz is not a "repository", and if you install from one you won't get automatic updates.

(Personally I build manaplus from git)
