Questons About Fork/Versions

Post by JPGarcia »

Greetings: My OS = Windows 10, and I have played the Portable version of ManaPlus installed on a Flash key: TheManaWorldPortable.exe which shows as version 1.9.3.23.

I then installed manaplus-win32.exe on the hard drive which shows as version 2.1.3.17. I then configured that install to match the Portable version, thinking that this was the Jak1 fork.

What I now suspect was the actual Jak1 fork yielded the file manaplus-test-0.0.0.1.zip which appears to have inflated into an also "portable" version, i.e. there did not appear to be a Windows installer, just the executable, manaplus.exe. The property sheet for this file says size 7.19 MB, File version 1.0.0.0, and the README in the inflated folder shows the date as 2019-03-23.

I apologize for being dense about this, but could someone provide an explanation of the differences?

Jak1's fork is manaplus-test-0.0.0.1.zip which is portable and version 2.1.4.x

TheManaWorldPortable.exe → Never saw any binary with this name. Cannot comment

manaplus-win32.exe → 4144's version.
