I have a mac. I would like to develop TMW software (e.g. manaplus for mac), new maps, sounds, graphics, the whole nine yards.

What programs should I use? they have to be free, or someone else can pay for them.

maps: tiled is suitable for tmw:mapeditor.org

Graphics: gimp (is that avalable on mac as well?)

programming: a texteditor of choice

look here
http://wiki.themanaworld.org/index.php/Main_Page
at right side (For Developers)

if you have further question, please make them more clear, so you get a better answer ;)

I have no experience with developing software on mac myself, but our past Mac developers used Xcode AFAIK.

I've talked with various people that know about this, and using anything else is pointless, as the compiled programs will only work with a specific subversion of OSX. They said a simple update can prevent them from working.
