Hello,
The snow area is no longer accessible to players because the warp is removed.
However, I noticed the maps are still loaded on the server.
It seems we could save some server resources by removing the maps until the area is re-opened.

Not that simple, there are still players with their positions saved on that map. If we removed the map and they logged in, bad things would happen. Rather than muck about with the character data and move everyone off that map or some other funky solution, it was decided to simply leave the map running while the new snow area to replace it is being worked on.

TMW CR 1 does not have a snow area and it has never had a snow area in its development cycle.

The map-server (which is the only server that really has to deal with the maps) doesn't use many resources as it is. We could probably add a hundred maps like the ones we have before we started straining it. There shouldn't be many left in Nivalis.
