I think more rectangular rocks/bricks would be more out of context. Most woodland houses that do use stone as a foundation use rocks and not bricks. The people use the stone they can find and in a woodland there aint much stone that you could make into bricks.

At least here in sweden we was very good at creating solid foundations and walls from rocks with all shapes and sizes when we built houses in the forests.

Yeah. The pile of straw is great. All we need now is a barn. :)

i wonder what kind of design controversy this pic will start.

I think the door looks to "bad".Like it come from a hovel.I think it's because the boards in the door are to thin. Broader boards would probably help.

Edit : Im not sure but doesnt doors usually have the top and bottom horisontal boards on the inside?I dont mind them but some might. :)
There's also usually a diagonal board for stability but it might be to cluttered to have that.

Edit 2 : Hm.I wonder how it would look if the door was open and hatched or something to the wall?

The house has a straw roof! Why not a cheap shabby door?

I still think the building needs more contrast, the door is barely visible. I like the shape but I can agree broader boards could be better.

I was about to say what ElvenProgrammer said. The door doesn't stand out at all. Maybe it should be painted or it should leave some space both above and under it.

The whole thing looks beautiful, just beautiful. The house and the haypile. For those that want contrast, there will be a contrast when that door is open and a dark void is revealed.

those are huge hinges
