Edit: It turns out I was wrong, because the same enum was used in 2 difference senses. (In db/const.txt some are type 1 and some are not).

I'll probably change the way this works eventually, though.

the bCamelCase constants from db/const.txt are special and automatically convert to the integer value for the attached player.

Calling readparam at any time is probably wrong: from my understanding, I think the numbers decay before it is even called so it will actually get the value of some random player parameter.
