Moving Tutorial to Candor and Closer to Hurnscald [Test]

Post by wushin »

One test are 2 Major Changes to Geography ONLY. All Quests & NPCs currently in-game should still exist.

BUT

The starting area has been moved to Candor. Candor has been enlarged to accommodate it. Candor still has Candor Battle Map and is restricted to level.

Basically all of the Tulimshar Suburbs Moved to Candor. Some of the lower level Tulimshar NPCs moved as well. Hide and Seek and Most of the Low Level Tulimshar NPCs. You should be able to find them on A) Candor Island B) Hurnscald. The rest of Tulimshar was also reduced in size but all the geographic locations where kept.

In order to test I'd suggest you start a character from the beginning of the game on the test server and play through the starting area quests on Candor and Hurnscald.

The Tonori/Tulimshar NPCs should not have changed much, but should reflect the changes made to them in the dialogue. All quests should function normal in Tonori.

Also Nivalis is now connected via land bridge in a separate commit that condenses unused maps and spices up maps that stunk. None of the NPCs or Quest changed there. However the Xmas house is now in Nivalis.

Sorry to say i'm really confused by the big move of Tulimshar... Harder to find npcs, could not find the girl to start the hide and seek quest and not find the chest where you get your starting gear and all that.

I know it's a test and all that and i know it's fun to try new stuff :alt-3:

But why not just let Tulimshar be a town where it is now?

I do however like the walkway between the woods and Nivalis :alt-3:

Hope someone more write down what they think, more opinions needed about this :alt-3:

Okey NEVER MIND ! I traveled with the second boat from Hurnscald and there i found everything i said i did not find at first :alt-3:

Yar, I moved the entire starting area to 029-1. So it's best to re-roll from the start to test the move.

I shrunk and change Tulimshar/Tonori and Nivalis because maps were huge and unused. Basically Vacant Lots. Now they have a Higher level of NPCs & Mob concentrations.

Yeah i started as a new char but i did not visit Hurnscald first and when i came there by boat i noticed the second boat but did not travel with it right away but when i did i was like ooooh here it is :alt-3:

I was thinking, will a new player start at the lighthouse or will we start on Candor island? Guess that on the test server now we start at the lighthouse because we are gonna explore everything :alt-3:

Wait are none of you starting on the Candor Map? Totally, what the hell. I have the starting area on 029-2 and I'm not sure why it's sending us to 001-1.

Ok, figured it out, forgot to restart char server. Please try again. New players will now start at Sorfina on Candor island. Sorry about that.

Huh, the new tutorial is actually pretty decent, much better than the old one.
Everything seems to work fine at first glance.
I did everything but Vincent's bug leg quest, the drop rate on those is abysmal.

Would kill for a proper quest log though.

btw Archer is still op.

Well I was thinking of bumping up the drop rates for the bug legs up for all the Scrops & ManaBugs.

The beach needs more tame scorpions, there's just not enough of them, have to keep waiting for respawns.

Yo wush,

Wonderful job, very nice island. easier for "noobs" to get the game instead getting lost at Tulim :D
as i told you, building 029-2 doenst have particles to show its a door, not Mana+ has a shortcut on it.
and NPC chat log distance should be like with the barrels or Valon (029-1 72, 86). short and close distances only. others NPCs seems still normal (wondering its a copy from tulim) Ye editing every NPC for that will be painful i know :)
Did some quests and everything seem normal.

funny: i like how Kaan throws the scorpion, like 10 yards away xD

keep the good job!

There is a fence sprite hidden in the field.

and

After the bully quest clicking on the scared man he says "Thanks. Kaan has been much nice to me now". He should say Hassan instead of Kaan, right?
