Do you have writer type folk available to help draft up quest ideas?

I need to read more of the world's back story (Evol's world) but
enjoy outlining quest ideas in written manner. Would prefer to not
script although may reconsider that as I have noted quest guidelines for Evol.

If there is a standard & it is given abidance, instruction given, I may seek to script quests. I have not yet really done so. I did do a pseudo-script for another server, in their forum, simply trying to grasp it. But I've not done it seriously because of lacking standards, lack of instruction beyond RTFM, or someone tossing scripts at an initiate whom lacks even knowledge of a manual, and presuming that initiate will know how to script. O.O XD

It is a new world to learn. Am willing to learn but need time to learn.

Anyone is welcome to try their hand at something, whatever their current skill level is. Quest concepts are very welcome, but it would be even more awesome if you wanted to do some scripting as well! If you need help you can join #evol-dev on IRC (x)
If there's not much activity it's because everyone is busy during these holidays, you'll still get someone to talk to most of the time, so don't worry :)

Quest/Random_NPC dialogues are very needed, you come at the right time.
I catch you on IRC to brief you about the game backstory and planned storyline, and our actual needs when you wish. :)

If you can't script and haven't the time to learn, I can worry about it, if you want to learn, I can lead you to some pages, but you can farm our -dev IRC channel to get a better script level. ;)

Alright, sounds good. I'll need to get into irc a bit more. At present I
am leveling up my character. Something I find a bit off putting is lack
of storage. Would love to keep lots more of the drops but get over
weight and need to sell. It is a small thing, I suppose.

We're still trying to find a good balance for storage size and items' weight, any feedback about that is helpful!
If you want to get on IRC quickly and easily you can use our IRC page with Kiwi IRC, which is a great web based client: IRC

Hi Wild,

I like to use Xirc or other types of programs for irc. It is nice though
to know the site based method exists. :) As far as weight balancing,
that sounds like something I think most users in general would
appreciate having a voice in.

One thing in that regard I note is tortuga shell fragments weigh 25
florin. The whole shells are 325 florin if I recall accurately at the
moment. My math is not always best but a calculator suggest that it
takes 13 fragments to make one shell.

Is there any story line significance to this? If so may it be
elucidated a bit here? If not might I suggest we think along the lines
of maybe 4 fragments making a whole shell?

This would reduce and seem to balance the shells a bit, in my opinion.
You would have a shell weigh 100 florin, which imho, seems a bit more
reasonable. Hopefully, a grand committee is not required. XD alt27

I understand the desire to be detailed and agree it bears importance.
That noted, I understand also that we play a game for having fun. As I
tell my nephews whom play GTA and other such games, "when it stops
being fun, walk away."

Yep I've added a wrong shell'weight number for it, it also make most player overweighted... alt25
It has been corrected recently, but it will be added on this release, not before.

You've seen right for this, I was thinking about combinating 3-6 fragments to form a tortuga shell, which could be crafted or whatever.
4 is good, it will be decided once we get into it.

The weigh has been changed to 95 on this commit some days ago.
;)

O.O GTA alt18
You're right, and the game development is here to have fun as well!
