Testing Maps

Post by L0rd »

Hello,

Is it no longer possible to test ones own map on the client by placing it in the "maps" folder?

Have i missed something somewhere because there are no maps at all in this folder and i cant find an update folder either as the map editing tutorial suggests.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Thank you. I had an idea for a map to add to the cave snake area and i needed to test it.

An abondoned arena, although im just familiarising myself with map making - its not a serious map yet...

There are two methods of testing maps. Method one is following this guide:
http://forums.themanaworld.org/viewtopic.php?t=2617

Method two is putting the map into a custom pack. Create a folder "customdata" in your userdirectorys subdirectory .tmw and place a zip file in it with a folder "maps" (name doesn't matter). Put your map into this folder in the zip and name it like the map you want to replace.

Please do not send me any inquiries regarding player accounts on TMW.

You might have heard a certain rumor about me. This rumor is completely false. You might also have heard the other rumor about me. This rumor is 100% accurate.
