New quest Idea.

I was wondering what everyone would think of a new quest I have an idea for.
This would be a community quest that would involve gathering raw logs to open the caves that I plan on making from the cellar of the restaurant I'm working on to the cave snake cave. I imagine that once a certain amount was collected the NPC then would let you in the new cave.
"Workers" would be posted at both ends and would collect the logs and give an update to the progress.
I imagine this would require more Log Heads to be spawned and the drop rate left about the same. What would a good value to complete this quest?
I was thinking about 2000 raw logs.
Any suggestions or Ideas regarding this would be greatly appreciated.
