That color blue really only goes with stone, IMHO. Try making this one have a cobalt-blue stone texture as the background.

I tried it with cobalt blue, it looks very nice. Below is the completed set including tabs. The buttons work best with the latest Git client because there was a commit by Turmfalke that allows you to change the colour of the buttons to something lighter. Enjoy.

Looks like a colorblind theme, I don't like it

This is the fourth button set, everytime someone does not like it, then I do another. The sapphire set is still medieval using the golden font that goes with the theme set. I could make it cracked to have an authentic feel to it and if you don't like it then make your own button.

I like this set so far and I'm sticking to it.

edit: Rotonen suggest green.

I've got a suggestion adamaix:

Stick with your first wooden button from the original theme. I don't know why someone complained about them in the first place. They look fine. None of the other buttons that you have done look anywhere near as good as that first wooden set.

These other buttons you have done don't fit the theme of the game, and their color looks really bad.

I've kept the style and combined it with the initial wooden set. Just a colour test, I'll still need to rough it up a little.

edit: There, if that doesn't go perfectly with the new theme, then I don't know what will.

It's a bit narrow for the font to fit with the background of the button now. With how the skinning of the client is now, perfection is hard to achieve.

Hi Rotonen,

Could we still use the wooden button for the highlight patch from Turmfalke?

If the buttons are too narrows, can Adamaix make them a little bit wider?

Regards,

I'd rather hold frustrating him over minor details of the GUI to the point where he has proper tools to fiddle with it. It will be less painful then.

As for the hilight effects, consistency is what matters. As long as we achieve that, sure.

Ok, then I shall upload the wooden theme in the Mantis and see how we can handle this for now...

I've been working on a title bar lately. The title is a bit hard to read, but this is a work in progress. Its possible also for the title text to have its own colour/font setting, which we could use to mitigate the problem of illegible text. Another possiblilty is to have the title text embedded in its own nine patch graphic (I'm hoping for this one).

I'm, trying to think of a suitable design to blend the border into the title. As you can see on the right side of the title, I've achieved the illusion of the title sitting as a slate with cracked paper glued to it.

Another thing you will notice is that the edges are rounded, which looks cool and gives the drop shadow a better definition.

I don't like the thickness of the border, and will most likely try to make it as thin as possible.

Any suggestions on style?

Hi Adamaix,

First words: Wow! Real nice!

The rounded border and the paper on wood effect are great ones.

Just for the title bar, I would have make it a little less dark, so that titles would be more readable.

I'm just a coder, though ;)

Have a nice day,

We need a border/shadow for the font to make it clearer. Something equivalent to what is at use in subtitles.

Something really needs to be done about the font, especially since all these player appearing with similar names.

I did a test to see what it would look like to have a 9patch thing for the title. Looks like it could work, the image was taken from a scroll I made for one of Fate's project, which I then proceeded to stretch, resize and rotate to the point of blurred pixelation. Of course the final product will be done by hand.

A scroll is one idea, the other idea is a golden plate with bolts, similar to those used in plaques. What do you think?

edit: A wooden or brass curtain pole in the center is also another idea http://sandras-soft-furnishings.co.uk/accessories.htm

Hi Adamaix,

As for myself, I'm definitely for the paper scroll.
